Hello again, Ive found a slightly cheaper alternative to net cafe's in Norway and that's using the internet in Sweden! How much easier can it be than to travel accross the border to use the net? It's not THAT much cheaper, probably save like $5aud althogether but thats better than nothing I think. I survived my first 11 days in Norway and looking back I didnt spend half as much as suspected but that's because im not constantly forking out for sightseeing excursions or museums, one reason for that is that most had already closed for the season, so I didnt see any 'Whale Museums' in the North or 'Seal Bashing Halls of Fame, with hands on Simulation Fun' which I would have liked, well at least some 'learn about how it all works here in ... read more

Welcome back, It wasn't long ago I finished complaining about Northern Sweden and now i'm here again in another expensive net cafe about to bleed my heart out again but this time the tales will be a little bit more on the positive side because Norway has shaped up to be just as I expected and I couldn't be happier. Im going to split my 3 weeks in Norway into two seperate journals, im hoping to get both Norway journals online before I get home but Im not sure if I'll have the time, it all depends I suppose but I'll end up doing my last one from the comfort of my own home. Some of you have stuck with me all the way through and other 'friends' got bored after realising my journals werent going ... read more

I finally made it to a netcafe but its not cheap in Norway, nope, not at all but I need to get this journal done because time is unravelling so fast on this trip that there is almost no time to keep getting these journals done, I worked out there's 3 more after this one but maybe ill have to do 2 from home and that doesnt sound like a travel journal at all, just a regular journal. So I better get started or ill never get it done. I didnt check my email for 6 days and had quite a few replies to get through but now all distractions have ended and I may continue here unheeded. This journal will cover my brief Swedish encounter with the awesome capital Stockholm and then a rather cheap ... read more

Jagshemash! It's hard to explain how important doing these journals are. They're very theraputic for me to clear my mind of important information that shouldn't be there anymore, as I need to take in my new surrounds. As I type this one up, well begin to, with my 30 mins free access at the Tornio library, it already feels like Im doing my job and informing everyone at home who cares to read, or had the time. So, after 6 months now, im still doing this thing for you and for myself and it's always been of great importance to find the time to get it all down. It takes longer for updates because I tend to type too much and not every place I go has USB access so I cannot upload photo's when I ... read more

Im kinda angry becaue travel blog screwed up my last journal because I "maxed out" the text and the last 5 lines I tried to write would be deleted every time I tried to save, so instead of finishing Western Europe off in one last journal, I have to have a lingering Hamburg 3 night stay to write about in this one, which I wanted dedicated to Copenhagen and the Baltic ferry crossings, of which there were two. So instead of complaing I should start typing this new journal up. So yeah, you may gorge your eyes and rot your spare time reading my journey from Hamburg, including a run in with the "run off" from Wacken Openair festival, which if you dont know it yet, you soon will. After a big night on the town ... read more

Cologne? I didn't really go there, I went through it and stayed in a small town right close by, so I guess the title is completely false, so please don't ask me any history questions about that town because I just wont know. This journal will be pretty boring I think, Ive been to alot of places, had loads of great times but I only stayed in 1 hostel for 3 nights during the last 2 and a half weeks, so it's generally all about how nice my friends have been to me and me singing their praises for the immense hospitality but if youre willing to read it, then I guess that makes me happy enough to write up another journal. Im gonna try a slightly new method to this journal, only slightly but I ... read more

I Loved Belgium but this part of my journey cannot be fully documented due to my choice of accomodation. I stayed with a friend and his family and my friend reads my journals and well... I dont want to be too honest because I certainly have no intention of offending him or his family or even the extended people who I met during my stay. Ill have to tread very carefully and try very hard to be entertaining but if I have nothing to complain about it's usually too boring. I guess time will tell and my readers (including my Belgian host) will be the judge. So let me begin this tale, one which spans 12 days, 12 of the best days of my trip so far, to be exact. The trip spans an early exit ... read more

Greetings, since my last journal I have traveled far and wide, well pretty much through 3 provinces in France and then I popped into Luxembourg for a day trip and landed in Antwerp in Belgium where I currently reside. This journal shall cover my last fleeting swiss moments and then the following 13 nights spent in France, they weren't as "fantastic" as you may have come to believe due to my title but they were pretty good, it's a shame I can't think of another adjective starting with F that isnt as powerful as Fantastic or as gay as Fabulous, If you can think of a more mediocre word for me to use, then don't hesitate to tell me. Also, if you read a comment from my last journal you would notice a comment which suggests ... read more

My last night in Aumbach there was a giant thunderstorm and it started a fire somewhere near the town and the local fire brigade was summoned, but german outback style, via means of an air-raid siren. I could have sworn the allies had returned for one last bombing run and it freaked me out. I took it as a good as sign as any that I made a good decision to leave that next morning. The first leg of my european loop; first stop Zurich in Switzerland and then the 'quiet' town of Interlaken in Switzerland. My four fantatic weeks in Bavaria had come to a close and as I took the dog for one final last walk in the woods I realised how much I would miss that place but this was a small section ... read more

Aumbach, It's not really one of those tourist hotspots, In fact, I would doubt that while Horse and I were there that there were any outsiders of Aumbach at all. It's not really that suprising but my Oma did tell me that a family in the Village actually did rent out rooms and at quite a good rate of 15euros a night, no doubt for that "authentic Bavarian Experience". I highly reccomend it to anyone but aslong as you have your own car or a motorbike or a rad little Vespa moped thingy so you can escape before your sanity escapes you. I think my Oma, herself could have made a fortune renting out the spare room of her house with meals and beer included of course. 50euros a night would have been sufficient for an ... read more
