hey there , been a while since i updated this but i have a reason to now. just got back from a three day trip down to tongariro national park with Wes, Suresh and Sara. so much fun. after leaving on friday afternoon we ended up walking in to Mangatapopo Hut at about 10pm. suresh was testing a new gps he got for his dad. we awoke the next morning to beautiful scenery and nice weather. the plan was originally to summit Ngaruhoe, however my achilles felt like dog poos after the 'staircase' so we decided to just play in the snow where lots of review/refreshing was needed for me. did a scramble up tongariro and were greeted with good views of north crater and surrounding mountains, Ngaruhoe and Ruapehu. had cramps in legs because of ... read more

Well, I went away fishing with my friends Wes and Scott for 4 days over fall break. as the weather is turning colder, we decided to try and do some late season trout fishing down at Lake Waikeremoana, which is about 4-5 hours southeast of Auckland in the Te Urewera National Park. We ended up doing a 'luge' or alpine slide in Rotorua on the way down, and wes and scott thought it was funny to run me off the track. ha ha. we eventually got to the lake and pitched the tents. i cooked dinner while the boys played beanie, a fun card game which i got the hang of later. the next day we hiked up to waikereiti, a smaller alpine lake where scott caught a nice trout. we made it into fish tacos, ... read more

these are pics of the goodbye party in the flat for Mattias. WHAT - a - PLAYER !!!! one of the best flatmates i've ever had, we became such good buddies in only 3 months. Miss him and Pascal heaps, and stefan too. the german boys were such a good time when they were here, now things are very very dull in the flat-- we need them to come back to NZ and have fun with us!!... read more
