I thought I'd post it up as it describes one of the notsogood times I had while travelling. I sometimes found it difficult to admit to having bad days and succumbing to loneliness and other difficult emotions but it's part of my travel tapestry and I hope some people who read it might resonate with the feeling behind http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Rajasthan/Pushkar/blog-454644.html Silks oils and uncles Inspired by Mell tried to do a link but can't seem to who writes really enjoyable travel email blogs I thought I'd put this one up which I sent to a friend of mine whilst travelling. I did also write it partly as a piece of writing I thought I could use one day. I've added in a few photos as well.24 Jan 2007MysoreHi TraceyHow annoying I was in the middle of a great piece of writing about http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Karnataka/Mysore/blog-448381.html All is coming... including the mosquitos Following on from my last entry this next bit is from my first day at the Sivananda ashram in Kerala.A loud gong being pounded over and over woke me at 5.15. It was still dark outside and the ceiling fans were whirring so the power must have come back on at some point.ldquoOm Nama Shivaya Good morning Time to wake uprdquo Neesharsquos voice boomed through the dorm as she went around cl http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Kerala/Neyyar-Dam/blog-446614.html When everything goes black I haven really done any travelling since coming back from my long trip but I feel inspired at the moment to do some more writing anyway. So Im just going to pick random days from my time away that I remember well for various reasons and write about them. This first one is actually an extract taken from the book I wrote about my travels and I have just changed it in some places for the purpos http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Kerala/Neyyar-Dam/blog-445790.html last but not least... Finally I get round to doing this last blog. Way out of date but better late than never...As some of you didn't know you'll see now there is an end to this story or at least another beginning yep I'm in Dublin but I'll leave that till later on first I've got the task of remembering back the last couple of months.I flew to Auckland from Melbourne and for the first time since being on the http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Dublin/Dublin/blog-238709.html Australia for now and a year into my trip A friend of mine emailed me after my last blog saying it was nice to get a shorter one and good to be able to read it all in one go for once well I'm afraid I'm back to normal and as it's been so long even since that one so long in fact I just noticed they've changed the layout and font for uploading entries this one will probably be longer than ever sorry Nikki and sorry to everyone http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/New-Zealand/North-Island/blog-209954.html shortest blog ever enjoy it while you can Just a real real quickie this time I'm not doing a blog this month because I'm writing a book instead yes really and at the moment I'm writing a lot and haven't got enough time for both I'm afraid I'll try and get a blog together by the end of Sept or early Oct maybe just before I leave Australia this time round. In the meantime I've uploaded just a few pictures anyway and done a map. http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/New-South-Wales/Byron-Bay/blog-197881.html last stops in India Amritsar Dharamsala Delhi Last stops in India Amritsar Dharamsala Delhi Asia India By DebtravelApril 7th 2007 golden Temple AmritsarThis might be more of a sombre blog as my time in India comes to an end. Some of this has been written while I was still in India some since leaving so hopefully won't be too disjointed or confusing. The last few weeks knowing that time has been limited now has made me realise all t http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Hong-Kong/blog-141494.html Thailand 2nd time around the AZ of SE Asia and Rod gets a great new nickname. If you think you've seen this blog before you have was one of the ones lost but I managed with lots of help from Liz thanks so much to recover it and think when I hit 'publish' you'll get an email alert again. Sorry if you've already read it..... Thanks also Beth my sister who has spent loads of time trying to recover my other stuffSo back in Bangkok for the third time now. Almost f http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/Central-Thailand/Bangkok/blog-186729.html Laos Luang Prabang Phonsovan Vang Vieng Vientiane Vietnam Hanoi Hue Hoi An flying visit to Ho Chi Minh Cambodia Phnom Penh Siem Reap Angkor...and back to Bangkok Really meant to get my act together and not leave it so long between blogs somehow this didn't happen. I can partly blame the crap internet connections in Laos and Vietnam and partly me.... the plan to make it shorter didn't seem to work that well last time Rod one of my friends who I'm travelling with encapsulated it by saying I read your blog. Well some of it. It does go on and on... http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/Central-Thailand/Bangkok/blog-175120.html Bangkok River Kwai Ayuthaya and Sukothai elephant mahout training in Lampang Thai cooking in Chiang Mai and a long long journey down the Mekong river in Laos... Sorry again for the long delay in this blog entry a didn't realise how much time had passed since the last one and b since getting to Laos internet connection is very erratic. It's now taken me about a day and a half to upload all the photos I wanted to put on this blog and there are loads this time. And what I've decided to do this time is do a much shorter writing bit ha ha I guess we'll http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Laos/West/Luang-Prabang/blog-164811.html too many countries in too short a time..... Starting this blog a bit back to front today with today in Bangkok. Mainly because I'm having a bit of a lonely day and I haven't spoken about this really but it's part of my travel experience being a solo traveller and probably part of the stuff that changes you along the way painful as it can be sometimes. Just a quick reassurance that this is nothing to worry about as I know particularl http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/Central-Thailand/Bangkok/blog-153511.html Rain in Rajasthan no camel trek no camera Just wrote a whole long intro to this blog and then the computer stuck and I lost the lot. Firstly I am really grateful to Mike my travelling companion over the last week more later for this blog entry still having photos as my camera was loststolen in Jaisalmer more later. He has kindly copied all the photos he took during the time we travelled together. So as Mike was behind the http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Rajasthan/blog-134440.html Varanasi a train journey Agra another fight on the buses Jaipur A friend of mine emailed me recently saying she was really enjoying my blogs but couldn't tell whether or not I'm having a good time Think I may have overdone it on the 'Indian chaos' stories it's just too tempting not to describe them in all their insane glory but to anyone else in doubt yes I am having a really good time. Incidentally I've been talking lately with some other travell http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Rajasthan/Jaipur/blog-130382.html On way to Varanasi 7 weeks to go in India and I'm still down in Tamil Nadu having procrastinated on booking my train ticket to Varanasi and then not being able to get on a train for 10 days. I caught a train to Chennai on 29 Jan. I would have thought I'd got used to the fact that normally in India the beginnings and ends of journeys and often the middle are full of drama but I arrived hopefully on the platform http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Tamil-Nadu/Chennai/blog-127794.html Don't come to this town ..... At least only to catch your train out So this is my first blog entry welcome to my blog. To people who know me I'm sure this will be a welcome relief from my long rambly emails which you then feel obliged to read and reply to this way you have a choice There won't be any photos on this one as I'm still working out the technology ie the wires that came with my camera to do this b http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/India/Tamil-Nadu/Coimbatore/blog-123602.html
