Well we are finally home after 2 months of trekking around our beautiful planet, filling our suitcases with mementos along the way, and then some, countless photos (yes Luke I do take a heap), some new friendships and a lifetime of experiences and memories. As you can see this blog does resemble Swiss cheese and there are a few holes in my blog entries. Hi everyone just a quick update to let you know we are all safe and well. We arrived in Egypt tonight around 10pm, didn't get through checks until after 11pm and arrived at hotel at midnight. We had to have a thermal scan to check for swine flu...a first! There were a bunch of doctors and medical staff wearing masks and we had to stand in front of a camera that projected our core temp on a computer to check for temp spikes. Tom and I were really looking forward to today. As most of you know Tom is a bit of a history buff and I will have to admit that I am too, however I cannot retain all the information that Tom does but I suppose he is not called the Minister of Useless information for nothing! (FYI good team member for trivia nights!) Today was our first full day in Paris and I now know why the French say ‘oui oui’…or ‘wee wee’ all the time - because that is all I have seen men do on shop steps or what they think are quiet street corners. Who pees on the footpath? After a much needed sleep in (FYI this is the best hotel bed we have had thus far!) we made our way down to the Eiffel Tower. It is 8am and we have been up since 5. Once again I echo my previous sediments of this ungodly hour and truly believe that 5am starts should be illegal. We are currently on our way to Paris France by the means of Euro star once again. I am sitting in my first class seat typing this blog to you.
