Well well, what can I say about this trip. It was one of those trips were pictures say more than a thousand words. So I´ll keep it short not to spoil the pics. We booked a tour from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni travelling with a 4WD. 1st day. We left San Pedro de Atacama in a bus towards Bolivia, where we then switched into the 4WD. A group of four; Diana, Fransisco (Portugal), Jean (Brazil) and me, not forgetting our bolivien driver Natalia (Natalio really) then set of on the three day tour. We left over the Andes, passing [View Full Entry]

After another 20+h bus journey we finally arrived in Salta . This place was too hot, around 36-38 degress and no wind. For these reasons we didnt do much here so the blog is going to be the shortest. Points worth mentioning are: 1. we ran across a brother and sister we meet down in El Calafate and El Chalten. They were in the same hostel as ours then and now so we sugested to meet up again in La Paz (Bolivia) to try the worlds hottest vindaloo. You get a free T-Shirt if you finish it. 2. ... back again in Buenos Aires.

We are now in Mendoza, a city wine lovers must know. It is famous for its Malbec wine. We left Santiago early towards Mendoza, the bus drive was advised to us as one of the nicest commercial drives in the country. It crosses the andes and passes the highest peak in the chain, the Cerro Aconcagua . The trip was well worth it. We took a road through a valley and up over slopes, passing little streams running of the mountains, following a worn out train track along a river, where it would enter [View Full Entry]

Back again, after a few days break, and some intensive football watching with a spanish sporst journalist we meet in toorres del Paine, we decided to take a boat up through the fjords of south chile. We were sailing on an 1972 tranpsort ship from Finnland. It normaly has up to 300 guest on board in high season, but we were aprox. 25 tourists in total (excluding the folk from Puerto Eden). As it turned out, the boat was empty, alot of us (those who booked the cheaper rooms) were promoted and recived better cabins (cabins with windows) for free. Diana [View Full Entry]

hello again. this is slightly outdated, but we have been with out a proper internet connection and most importantly without time. I'll give it a go and see what I can remember... We arrived in El calafate after yet another long bus trip at night. We found our hostel on top of a hill and relaxed with a beer and some cards. The next morning we looked out one of the many large windows and saw snow capped mountains, a massive lake and a small village down below. Beautiful. We decided to use the first day to explore the village and [View Full Entry]
