| 25th October 2006 David Lee | North Korea Worries (?) - From: Red Light District AND MUCH More Hey Kelly, I'm actually not that worried about it. The people working in Korea that I've spoken to say that the "Nuclear Crisis" is kind of like "The War on Terror" in the US. You hear about it all the time, sometimes more, sometimes less. It's an ever present threat, but it's not something that you are constantly in fear of or can really prevent as a civilian. I know it's not the best time to be going there, but I trust that my employers will keep us safe and that the work and experience will be rewarding. To be honest, in a way it even tempts me to go more, in a foolishly curious, living on the edge kind of way. Obviously not a factor in my choice to go to South Korea, but it wasn't much of a deterrent. I'll definitely be careful, but I'm confident that we'll be safe within our UNICEF work community. |
