Ok, so it has been a long time since this was updated! And lots has happened since the last instalment. Dave and I decided to travel as friends whilst we were in Asia and as he had already seen both Oz and Nz, it seemed silly to do all the sights again. Having nipped to Nz after Darwin, Dave saw a bit more of North America, from LA to Mount Rushmore, to Washington D.C., to New York, was home for Xmas and is now in South Africa training to be a pilot. He has some great pics to show you too...when he gets around to it. We're keeping in contact all the time and will be meeting up as soon as I get back!! Watch this space. I continued around Oz and am currently in New ... read more

Hey! Here I am again...so soon!! Just catching up. Hope none of you were sick looking at the vege festival pics! So...Malaysia. what a beaut! And the most amazing people we've met, so friendly. We loved it there. So, where did we go and what did we see...? Started in Kuala Lumpur. It was ace there. Stayed on the bustling night market road which was good fun. The main highlight was seeing the Petronas Towers and going up in the lift to the bottom of the double decker bridge which joins them. The structures were so cool!! I think that's a bout it really for there, the KLCC (big mall) was awesome, but once again, we didn't have too much spare cash!! So, onto Taman Negara - at Kuala Tahan - the oldest rainforest in the ... read more

Hey again. A little behind with the blogs now so you'll get a few in a row once I get them sorted! I've posted my journal of SE Asia home now too so am relying on my memory alone! So, after Vietnam, we flew back to Bangkok. In honesty, we were really glad to get a bit more westernised again for a while! Stayed in Siam Square area this time but did make a little trip to the Khao San Road for just one last time! Couldn't afford to shop in the designer malls all round there but we enjoyed the air-con and the gorgeousness of a Subway (or 3!). Yummmmmmmmy! Headed down to Pra Chuap (sp.?!) on the east coast. It was a really nice little place and there are wild monkeys there so we ... read more

Well, our last day in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) saw Dave having a hair cut and me having my nails done!! COst about four quid for everything!! Wow! Also had a Seeing Hands massage (massage by blind Cambodians). Dave had a foot massage and I had a fully body one. OWWWW!!! It hurt a bit and left me with a bit of bruise on my arm. On the whole it was nice...I think?!!?! Haha. The next day we caught the bus to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Only had a 15 day visa for here so everything was in a bit of a rush but in the end, we didn't mind so much as got fed up with people trying to screw us over all the time. Couple of non-city places we would have liked to ... read more

Hey all! Well, we're nearly at the end of our stay in Cambodia. We've seen quite a few places here, the best has to be Angkor Wat though! Check out the pictures! There are more to come but it really takes AGES to get them on so there's only ones from Angkor Wat and the boat trip over to Battambang. Will add a few more from Cambodia when I get a chance. So, we flew from Pakse (Laos) into Siem Reap. We saw the Danish couple we met way back in Laos again. They did the overland border crossing, which took them 2 days to get to Siem Reap - they said it wasn't worth the money - we only paid a little more (in total) to fly and it only took an hour and we ... read more

Well hello again all! It's been quite a while since the last installment and we've done lots! So, sorry, it'll be a fairly beefy one again! Lots of photos on here - which take an absolute age to upload - we'll rename them in a couple of days or so instead of having just numbers. Enjoy...! So, we told you of our plans to ride elephants and such like so here we go! The Erawan waterfalls were really pretty and it was a good day for it too. Took over an hour to get up and we swam in the pool at the top trying to avoid getting nibbled by the fish! Didn't have too long there because of our jam-packed day but we took lots of pics on the way down - including some of ... read more

Hey hey we're the monkees! How are you all doing? Thanks for your messages and comments - we're having a fab time but it's really cool to hear from home! So, thanks! Right, I'm keeping a handwritten diary so you can catch up with that when I'm back but I'll try to put the finer details on here (basically, I ramble like a trooper!). Hoping to get some pics up on this one - or possibly as a separate blog - dave's just on another computer at the mo, so we'll sort in a tick. Well, we went to the Grand Palace in Bangkok and I was really impressed. We got a little lost walking to it but we eventually found it. It was a gorgeous day and the gold and mosaic glittered in the glorious ... read more

Well, we made it! Just a quick one to start us off. Sitting in an internet cafe just off Khao San Road. It's bloody hot here! Ha! Arrived yesterday, caught bus out to KS Rd and then found a room-900 Baht for two nights - roughly 65ish baht to pound - I'll let you do the maths. Anyhoo, tis pretty cheap. Wandered down the KS Road last night, got some Pat Thai from a street hawker before they ran away from a lone police officer on patrol! Haha. Went to the Grand Palace today - was impressive as was the weather - no thunderstorms yet, just hot and sunny. We shared a couple of rottis today after the palace. We're heading to a big market tomorrow , staying one more night in Bangkok and then heading ... read more
