who am I? - From: Two become one
I've found your blog and am enjoying travelling with you. That bird, as you may have found by now, is an Indian Myna, something of a scourge and considered the rats of the bird population here.

Windy and Wet! - From: The lucky number seven
Hi Guys, cannot believe it is windy and wet over there! Tiny drop of rain over here in Nangus, nothing to make a difference, they are still harvesting, little bit cooler this morning I am wearing .... wait for it..... a long sleeve t-shirt! I see the sun tan is coming along nicely a little bit darker than the last time we saw you! We too did not like Wagoe, we stopped on the way into Kalbarri, it was too exposed.... there was no shade..... it was very hot when we stopped by and just something about it that made us not want to stay there, so we went into Kalbarri, I think we stayed at the Tudor Caravan Park, which you mentioned a few blogs ago. They obviously put their own name into the internet every now and again, because we wrote in our blog how we felt about the place they sent a snotty message to us. The photos are great and the colours of the wild flowers just beautiful. Take Care and have fun KJ xx

How very dare you! - From: Muffin .... On a Wednesday?!
Muffin on a Wednesday doesn't even bear thinking about and I will never be able to bring myself to tell Brucie, not at his age! Pelicans, hhmm reminds me of Florida when Mr Coulsell nearly lost his wig when one flew in rather low one day! The guy in the 'Stretching for a fish' photo looks like he's from a 40/50's movie! Great to see you having a great time and chilling out for probably the first time in your lives. Just doing the 'Children in Need' stuff at work today, wish I had a £1 for everytime someone mentioned your name today - nice to be missed though chick. Lots of love Us 4 xxxx

Dinner - From: It's not a good time for fishing, the pelicans are still asleep
I was just reading about what Darryl cooked for dinner but had half an eye on the bug photo and it brought an interesting picture to mind!!! Your albino dolphin set me thinking about the white whales we saw in Canada so I've just checked and they were Belugas and not like dolphins at all. Mum K xxx (PS I can hear Graham trying to tempt Tiger into playing with a new toy we bought her but without too much success probably! You can probably guess that it is raining here so we can't get out in the garden!)

It's fantastic that you've re-visited the place where your headline photo was taken and find it just as wonderful. We were lucky to be there when the wild flowers were out - it must have been towards the end of September 2003. xxx Mum K

Well, it took some time, but I am finally caught up on your blog. You do a great blog. And you are obviously having a great time. Superb! Check out Findlay's B-B-Q Fish when you are in Kalbarri. It's a pretty unique place. Food is good and wasn't expensive when we were there in Oct 2009.

Wise choice - From: Jurassic Broome
Sounds like you have made a wise choice in bypassing some of the 4WD tracks. The cost of some misadventure sure would put a big dent in your plans. Who would have thought that repairs like you mentioned would be $6000??? We know from just a short 10k trip into 80mile beach how bad the corrugations are. And I suspect ours wasn't too, too bad. Keep up the good blogs. I am slowly catching up Gary

Stand Back from the Water - From: Clinging to coral
Dear Wallaby Wanderers, I am seriously concerned about you two!!! Just get out of the water and back on the bitumen, we want to see you in Tasmania and are trying to plan our February for that, at this rate you will still be in Coral Bay! Glad to see you are still having fun, we are on Sunshine Coast, having a few repairs done on the trailer/tent, nothing serious but after 50,000k's there is a little bit of wear and tear needing attention. We are catching up with friends while we are here but will head off south soon to get to Wagga Wagga. Life is good, but I don't now what happened to the sun on the sunshine coast, it was here last time, but now it is gone!!! Travel Safe guys, Love to Sydney with a Y from Cairns and the girls, of course to both of you two! Love KJxx

Waterproof... Not! - From: Searching for crowded coral
Thanks for the heads up on the camera casing, I was seriously considering it until you mentioned that, however I am planning on giving Andy my current Canon Eos and getting a newer model for myself, hmm.... I think the Sony will not be up to much underwater, it plays up terribly at the best of times, so something reliable is a must. We have dramas of our own today, we have a collapsed wheel bearing on the camper trailer, we have left it in Cape Hillsborough to pop into McKay to pick up a new hub and bearings! Cannot complain, she has done 50K on some terrible terrain so this is not too huge! Looking forward to having a proper read up and catching up on your blogs... take care KJ xx

Hi Barb, how great to hear from you! We fell in love with Exmouth when we visited two years ago so we've been longing to get here. It's been so awesome and the Emus made us laugh everyday. They're beautiful creatures and to see them wandering around without a care in the world is fabulous. We watched them up at Cape Range too by the drinking tap near Mesa campground, glorious to see. Great to hear from you and thanks so much for reading. All the best for the future Dar and Sarah

Nothing to do with your Blog - From: Who's checking out my hole?
Almost nothing anyway, great stuff Sarah, we're having so much fun with you guys and the under water shots are great. Now business, we're at Williambury and we love it and they have room for you two, check your phone because I left the phone number in a message there and didn't bring it to the computer, anyway, it's really cool here (in a hot kind of way) and you guys would love it, if you can organise some time here we would stay longer to hang with you here. Awesome photo opportunities to Sarah, got a panorama of an approaching storm from the hill behind the house, got caught in a dust storm an everything, it was very adventurous. So guys, get on the phone and get your butts out here, we miss you and it's really good.

thank you for your blog - From: So that's why you shouldn't feed the emus!
Hello, I just came across your travelblog and it was so fun to read about that magical place and those beautiful emus...I was stationed at H. E. Holt from 1987-89...I loved the emus, and they loved me because I would feed them frosted flakes at every opportunity.....I remember one time a young emu was hanging around the front of the commissary then walked right in and they had to corral it outta there...He probably wanted to get out of the heat....I 'll never forget the time a coworker informed me that there was a cockatoo that had gotten entwined on the barbed wire security fence that sorrounded our worksite...I put on these huge utility gloves and ran out there with a big pair of wire cutters, hoping I wasn't too late. I could see the bird was close to exhaustion as I worked as fast as I could to free him... I finally got the wire free and he was able to fly away....... That was the best feeling, being able to help such a beautiful animal.

Wooooo Hiya - From: Out of range, back in two days!
Hi you two, I am very jealous of the awesome time that you are having. Looks and sounds fab. I am finally relaxing - the final week day of the holiday, its just passed noon and I'm still in bed......watching Simon Cowell - what could be better.....! Soon I am going to have to get up and start to prepare for the weekend. I'm off to Bristol this evening catching up with a uni friend for the weekend at the rowing finals. Its going to be tough ....free hotel, food and drinks. Then hopefuly a mad dash back for a league rugby game on sunday in oxford (depending on alcohol and sleep situation). I hardly have time to work - clearly I need to meet a very wealthy gentleman. right, continue to have fun and a postcard would be ace. I could then inform my children that there are other countries other than enland and 'their' country!! I still have some planning to do for monday but its defo not happening today! lol speak soon, tj

Soft Water - From: One big adventure playground
Darryl, I thought you hated that "soft water" look as it is not natural? Great pictures of the gorges, brings back great memories of Karijini for me and Andy, I have to say i would not have swum through that middle pool!! The water was freezing cold when we were there and I am sure it could not be that much warmer now! Fern pool was cold enough. Hope you guys are ok, love and kisses KJx

I'm only a couple of months behind in reading your blog, but I will catch up. Interesting side note when we visited Wycliffe. We had dinner in their restaurant. The Chinese waitress(es) were apparently new to Australia and were quite astonished when we ate our Chinese meal with chopsticks. Laughing and giggling, looking out the kitchen doors.
