nice blog Hello,
I read your blog bit late but it is very interesting specially you described regular happening things here in very funny manner. I have been in varanasi but never got courage to bath in ganga. However there is lots of things which people forget about Hindu culture and just following blindly without understanding their real meanings.
Best chocolate ever That would be a great ad, eating chocolate while standing in marinating garbage, getting run over by 2 cars and a motorcycle, and still eating the best chocolate in the world, what a great day it is!
Also, me, I think I would find a way to import said chocolate. Make contacts, make coin.
ps, if you become a girlfriend to an Indian tea farmer on some bus, your dad will hire me to hire someone to fix things. Better yet, he can hire Chris who knows people who don't have a sense of humor.
Now, where is my Hersey bar?
Last thing I feel like is having my seat neighbor trying to find himself a white girlfriend. This title is for the last comment. I think it gor erased before I hit send. Just warned to be sure.
I sure can\\\'t wait to see you.
When are you coming to LA? If you come I can put together a bunch of people from my photo club to listen to your travel stories and watch your photos. Casual.
That is an interesting comment, there Darci. Why is that the last thing you need, makes you sound a touch shallow to be honest. What if God wants that for you?
I didn't mean that in a bad way, because any female, no matter your color or race, gets harassed and propositioned to here. There is a reason the married women wear a big streak of red at the top of their forehead to show they are taken. I made that comment not because I think they hit just on me. And, if God wants me to find myself an Indian man, that would be totally cool!
Thanks Beautiful story. What a shame it would have been had you left. The thing is, no matter what choice you make while traveling will be the right choice. How much longer are you on the road?
Happy New Years darci! Your parents have done a good job! What an incredible journey you are on! Your dad gave me the link to your blog and I am thoroughly engrossed with your story! I think you are much richer than the men you had dinner with in shanghai.keep living abundantly and stay safe.
India I can\'t help but be reminded of the four weeks I was in India with a group of people. The smells, culture shock and the gratitude I felt for my home in Canada was immense at times as I realized how fortunate I was to live in a affluent country. Although there is affluence in India, the poor are so much more present. Survival is the main thrust that drives the economy and people will do almost anything to get that U.S. dollar. You will never see your world in the same light again. Blessings!
Deja vu! Can't believe that things haven't changed more in 30 years! Reading this blog is like listening to my own memories. Did the trains, got pooped on, stared at, saw a wedding, got spat upon. But not alone. Thank our God that He is closer to you than any companion could be! Miss you and love you...
Your travels I am so enjoying your blog! I have been waiting for you to visit Thailand to hear our thoughts on this amazing country. I am writing this from the sun deck of our condo in Dolphin Bay in Thailand. Glad you love it here as much as we do! Safe travels!
you will know .. where to go when it's time. It is not a bad idea to travel without a plan. Live is always that what happens after we made a plan. God knows where to guide you.
Like your blog. Keep on exploring! Ciao
Burn fake US money Hi there,
Quote:"It is them 'sending' money to themselves in the next life."
Actually they were sending those fake money and products to their ancestors who might have been ling in hell (poor life), and they used to do it on the annual anniversary of the death person.
Hope this helps. Happy travels!
Laid in bed last night and prayed for you. Then this blog came through. Sounds incredible, Darc! Thinking of you a lot. Wish I was with you!
I think we're starting to adjust to life in Vernon. Thanks for praying for Rae. She is starting to have better days.
Love ya so much!
Barking dog! Maybe you should buy those face mask Chinese people wear, I think they will look great on you... ;-). But no worries, that cough will be better in the morning!
Sounds just wonderful, Darc! And kinda weird and not always comfortable. Just the way travel to new places is supposed to be. How's the food? I've heard it is very different from what one expects. Are you going to see Chuck and Judy? I'm geographically challenged so I don't know where they are in relation to where you are going. Pray for Rae, please. About what we talked about this summer. May God cover you and protect you and fill your life with joy and purpose. Love you.
Ah thank you! The food has been quite incredible!! Major flavor and never boring, especially ordering not knowing what I've just pointed to on the menu. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family..
Oh and I think I was a few hours away from chuck but I didn't get to their town this trip :)
I grew up in the middle of northern British Columbia. Basically no one around for miles, only 2 stop lights in my town, and my high school graduation class had 7 people in total. So, now I have an incredible passion for seeing the rest of the word and meeting as many interesting people as possible!! I am taking a leave from my life here in Canada, my job, and traveling for a year... ... full info
