Namaste from India... How is everyone doing? Getting ready for Christmas?? Well I'm sorry to have to break this to you, but Santaclaus might not be coming over this year, as he's been spotted soaking up the sun in Goa. Please keep this quiet as he's trying to keep a low profile, but then again, with a beard like that - good luck to him trying to stay undercover... Yes, we've finally come to the end of the road, so to speak, and what a road it's been... With hardly any bumps or hiccups along the way, we've had a most [View Full Entry]

Namaste!! How are you all?!?! Even though we have finished our travels and are currently relaxing on the white sands of Goa I owe you a story or two... Nepal seems like such a long time ago, which really it was... I guess I've been a little slack but will make it up to you - no more excuses when we've nothing to do but keep the sand away from our sandwiches and the seawater from getting in our eyes. Nepal - to ignorant travellers such as ourselves a most peaceful place with a definite beaten track that leads from Kathmandu [View Full Entry]

A freezing 'Tashi Delek' to you all!! Tibet - we didn't know much about the place, which only increased the sense of adventure we felt when going in... And an adventure it was. Hmmm, what did we have.... A yak attack, Acute Mountain Sickness & oxygen bottles, a village full of hostile Tibetans, and getting stuck at the border due to political unrest. But was it worth it? Absolutely. Nothing beats riding a bike through the worlds highest, most barren but most impressive landscape with crisp blue skies above, bright white snowcaps ahead, and turquoise lakes below. After an amazing flight [View Full Entry]

A warm Ni Hao to you all, From Shangri-La, a little village on the border of China and Tibet, our latest update: China... a weird and wonderful place!!! We started at the bottom, made our way up to Beijing (the northpole of our travels) and have just hit the bottom again, to slowly get ready for our pilgrimage to Tibet. We have spent nights and nights on busses and trains with some bizzare sleeping arrangements happening from time to time: sharing cabins with utterly clothed buddhist nuns and semi naked sumo-style chinese alike. We have had to downgrade from 'soft sleepers' [View Full Entry]

Hi All!! How are you doing!! It's been a month since our last update, and quite a hectic one it's been. Accompanied by the wonderful Robyne (Daniel's mum), we have covered Vietnam bottom to top, and I can tell you we have made the most of it alright. A beautiful country with beautiful people who (in contrast to the Cambodians) have moved on from the atrocities of their war torn past, and are happily going about their day to day lives. In the countryside this involves lots of rice, growing vegetables and fattening up cows, chickens, pigs, and yes, dogs (more [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone!! Great to hear your comments and emails following our first blog attempt - we now consider ourselves veterans so here goes... We've been travelling around Cambodia for the last 10 days or so, and the vast differences with Thailand were obvious as soon as we set one foot across the border. Barefooted children pushing wooden carts on wooden wheels around by means of 'taxiservice', grubby toddlers begging for money and food, lots of rubbish everywhere and, most importantly to us at that point in time - the road just stopped. That's right, nothing but muddy, rocky, slippery clay on [View Full Entry]

Well hello everyone, Seven weeks into the journey, and finally here it is: A sign of life from Thailand!! It's like we've always been here - I guess it was like that from day one, and we are enjoying some serious white sands, green palmtrees and clear blue waters - yes we're in Koh Samui, paradise island. Daniel is about 4 weeks into his Muay Thai boxing training, and most definitely is getting the hang of it. His original objective was to have a proper fight at the end of his 2 months training, however since that can't be organised he's [View Full Entry]
