It worked out rather conveniently that we scheduled to visit my family in Virginia at the same time as the Inauguration! History in the making, and we got to experience it...in all it's cold, frigid, freezing glory. (We're not too used to the cold weather, and certainly not being in it for 24 hours straight!) So, like I said my family lives in Virginia and we flew in on the 13th. Pretty much we've been laying around the whole week - sleeping late, eating, barely going outside in the cold, playing music...you know, stuff you do when you "go home". Then [View Full Entry]

Walking to the Metro
Phoenix the vagabond!
To the Metro Center

This past Sunday we both had off of work in time to head out on a small road trip to do some hiking. We didn't know at first that it would turn into a hiking adventure, and we especially didn't know it would turn into such a mental and physical excursion! We just had a general idea that we wanted to go hang around some nature and trees and that we have heard so much about Big Sur. So, Sunday afternoon we packed up my car (Rhonda the Honda), and prepared our traveling car-sleep-pod. This is a fun way to turn [View Full Entry]

Amma Hugs! North America » United States » California
This week held a brief but intense trip up to San Ramon to visit Amma, the Hugging Saint. We caught wind of her being in the area through our Costa Rica contact, who is a volunteer at the Ashram that Amma goes to when she visits the area. We planned on waking up early Monday morning and driving the hour and a half to the Ashram. It was perfect timing really - we missed the morning commuter traffic and just zipped up the 17/880, hopped over to 680, and then pretty much straight there. The weather was mystical and foggy, which [View Full Entry]

The past week and a half has been full of adventure, beauty, manifestation, and travel. The original plan was to stay in Arcata for the week to spend time with friends, as well as to make some money (at least enough to make up for the precious days taken off of work in Santa Cruz). But as is consistent with my life right now, the Universe had much more exciting and enlightening plans for me! After the first few days in Arcata, Phoenix and I got pulled to continue our travels - first to Redding to visit her Grandmother, and then [View Full Entry]

Last weekend we had an adventure to Laytonville, California to go to Earth Dance. Earth Dance is a big festival that basically plays music for three days straight. You camp out next to your car and then walk into the woods for the festival. We staked out a spot and had about 5 tents in a little village, with a canopy that was pretty essential, it was really hot during the days. There's some good Rainbow family love there, which was nice to connect with. We saw a lot of our friends from Rainbow and had wonderful lovey hugs. On the [View Full Entry]

The other day when I was at work and I suddenly had the urge to go camping. I haven't been since Rainbow and it struck me pretty strong. So I delivered whatever drinks I had in my hand and set out to find Phoenix, who also works there, to tell her. I only had to walk a few steps, which was perfect, and told her I want to go. She immediately said "YES! Lets go tomorrow!" which was the absolute best answer ever...so we did. After we worked our brunch shift the next day, Sunday, we packed up and headed about [View Full Entry]

Spontaneity is the key to that feeling of freedom, me thinks! This past Sunday, the lady Phoenix and I decided to road trip with our friends, Annette and Azza, back to Arcata, increasing our magical time spent with them aphond also avoiding a long hitchhike back for them (which I'm sure they would have loved, honestly). So from Santa Cruz to Arcata we went. We took Highway 1 all the way up, which of course is always a beautiful route. The plan was also to meet up with some other wonderful friends - Andreas and Julie. It took a while to [View Full Entry]

Our first stop was to a hotel where Shel and I showered up for the first time in over a week! Oh my was it wonderful to be clearn and shaven again. Then we charged our cell phones and caught up on voice mails- most of mine were from her before she was came into Rainbow and a few birthday wishes. Then [View Full Entry]

Continued from the previous two posts about Rainbow. Scroll past the People names and Dictionary if you've already seen it! Part 3- Third Day, Michelle Arrives! I left off telling you about my day with the Six Up, escorting them around the Gathering. It was the second day I was in Rainbow and still no Michelle yet! Last I heard from her before my phone went out of service was that she would look for the bus, which she would hopefully recognize from all the photos, and leave me a note. I had learned from wondering around the gathering that I [View Full Entry]
