Hi all, A quick update to let you know we arrived safetly here in Guildford on Sunday morning. We have a nice wee flat in Guildford. It's pretty small - but that's to be expected over here. The kitchen is hidden behind fold-away doors in the lounge - so it's pretty tiny. The place has a spare bedroom with a double/queen bed - so it anyone wants to come and visit you are most welcome to come! Except we can't have more then 2 visitors otherwise you'll have to sit on the ground as we only have one couch and one [View Full Entry]

Today we had to try and pack everything into a few bags that we would be able to carry with us to England. What a mission!? Apparently we must have gathered quite a few bits and pieces along the way - souvenirs, lego, my work clothes, lego, a handbag, lego...you get the idea! Anyway, we managed to get it into 2 big suitcases, two backpacks, one big camera bag and a laptop bag - manageable with 3 bags each! After Auntie Margareth and Uncle Albert came back from work, we hopped into our cars and headed back to Germany. So now [View Full Entry]

Hello all, Today we had another boring day of travelling on autobahns. However I can now say that I have been in three different countries in one day - Belgium, Germany and Holland. We are back at Aunty Margareth's house, where we have been feed and watered. We emptied the car and now have the mission of trying to fit it all back into our suitcases. After our massive meal (I think Auntie Margareth was cooking for 18!) we went into town to the flea market. I couldn't convince Auntie Margareth to go on the carnival rides - so instead we [View Full Entry]

For those who asked.

Howdy from Belgium this time. Today I didn’t see any Ferraris so no Ferrari photos for you. You will just have to be happy with my usual buildings and scenery pictures. Sorry. This morning after I finally managed to coax Monique out of bed by dismantling the tent around her, (she has gotten her hands on a book) we had a bit of a wander around Luxemburg city. We managed to find a car park along a one way street which I reversed the entire way up to get to. We were looking for parking buildings previously but that wasn’t working [View Full Entry]

Greetings all, from Luxembourg. There is not much to report about today as we didn’t really do much except travel on Autobahns all day from Ulm in Germany to Luxembourg in Luxembourg. I saw a Ferrari on the way and thought I’ll take a photo of that and put that on the blog to keep the masses around the world unfortunate enough to subscribe happy!! Other than that I didn’t take any photos because the autobahn is not that interesting. Over and out. [View Full Entry]

Hi all. It has fallen upon me (Dan) to write today’s informative, enthralling and otherwise witty blog entry. I know that you are all breathlessly waiting to read what happened in Legoland today. Well let me put an end to your suffering and baited breath. Today we, that is Monique and I, toddled of to one of the Legolands, this one happened to be in Deutschland. I have always been a fan of Lego and when I was somewhat younger I decided that I needed to go to Legoland. That did not happen as Lego did not recognise the vast importance [View Full Entry]

Today was our ‘black forest’ adventure day. We were going to look around the town we had stayed in for the night in Switzerland but when we headed towards all the buildings all of a sudden we found we were crossing the border into Germany! The customs man asked us if we had anything to declare?! I’m not quite sure what you’re supposed to declare between two bordering countries like that! Anyway, we started our big black forest tour at St Blasien where we had a look at the massive church/Dom there. It was completely white on the inside and looked [View Full Entry]

Hi all from Zurzach - on the border between Switzerland and Germany, on the Swiss side. Today we drove from our camping spot to Zurich. We found the old part of town - which is a walking only area, and had a wander around. The city is quite big and we arrived around lunch time so there were people everywhere! At least school holidays appear to be over so there are not too many holidaying families. Zurich had a lot of old buildings which looked impressive. We went to the main tourist attractions in Zurich - the Grossmunster (a church with [View Full Entry]

Dion - we’ve now seen your train layout in reality. We have travelled today from Lugano to Bunnen (near Schwyz, south of Zurich). The country side here is amazing! It’s so picturesque; we’ve never stopped so much for photos as we did this trip. Mind you, there were about a billion trains and train stations to see along the way and I’m sure Daniel stopped at all of them! For lunch we stopped on the side of the road which happened to be next to a train line - I think Daniel spent more time photographing the trains going past then [View Full Entry]

How yowl doing? Splendid I trust. We are still in the land of cheese, chocolate, watches, clocks and pretty red army knives with white crosses on them. Today was hot again. I went for a swim in the lake by our camp site this morning and completely dried out in about 40mins, shorts and all. We decided that we should spend some time doing washing, drying washing, sorting photos and updating our blog which was about 5 days behind as we have a free hot spot at this camping ground. Wonderful!! However, by the time we did all that it was [View Full Entry]
