| 23rd March 2008 Sciencemel | Dutch folk - From: Wet and windy weather plus some snow in Amsterdam Howdy. The one thing that struck me last year when I was in AMS was the tolerance of the people. I spent a fair bit of time chatting with locals and they were all very tolerant of believes, cultures, languages, etc. Basically a live and let live ethos. I hope you had the opportunity to experience that. Don't feel put off by the weather - it has been rubbish everywhere. I'm just back from 3/4 days in London and it was cold, windy, alternating sun/clouds with snow on the return to Edinburgh. We are making up for an unusually lovely year last year. To put it in perspective, the tulips were just coming up this time last year and gone by about the middle of April. Guessing that isn't the case this time. Hope you have wonderful trip in the US. |

Do you two plan to stay in the Seattle area or are you thinking of going South? Will Dave stay in Medicine. How about you, Merry Jo? I am staying in Columbia, SC until the end of June at this time. I will take off a couple of weeks then and will start somewhere new mid July. Ido not know where yet. I do hope to stay in the Southeast through the summer months and perhaps through the remainder of the year. We'll see.... Be careful you two and stay in touch! Love, Susan |
