Hello everyone! Just had another lovely day at the beach. Beautiful blue water and white sand! I'm starting to get some colour! Actually i burnt the top of my ass the other day, very painful trying to carry a backpack that is tight against your back!! Took the bus from Phuket to Surat Thani and then a ferry to Koh Samui. Samui is the third largest island in Thailand. It is very quiet here which makes a big change to what we have been used to, it's great!! It's still the low season here will probably pick up soon. Hello everyone! After hours of travel we have eventually arrived at a beach! Patong Beach in Phuket! We travelled by overnight bus from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then spent the day in Bangkok, found Hard Rock Cafe. Weather was really bad that day, like a monsoon! The streets basically turned into rivers. Got back on another bus from Bangkok to Phuket, overnight again. Thought it was gonna be great cos we had great seats with loads of leg room. Today we went on a little trek which was great fun! We were picked up at the back of 8 this morning, then went on to pick a few others up (9 of us in total). We headed up to the jungle, great scenery! We got to trek through the jungle on elephants for about an hour. It was really good fun although you don't feel very safe sitting on top with nothing to really hold on to. We then headed off to see a waterfall (i've forgotten already what it was called!). Left Bangkok now and have headed north to Chiang Mai. This place is much quiter and not so smelly either, which is a bonus! We took the overnight train which was a nightmare, 12 hours of sitting on an uncomfortable leather seat! Was so gald to get off! Back at our hostel for a shower before going back out (actually it's not a hostel more of a guest house, got own room with toilet and shower in it, much better). Arrived safely! Flight was good but so glad that we weren't carrying on to Oz yet as it would be way too long! Took a walk to Grand Palace today, walked through China Town, it was pretty far though! Just experienced our first ride back to hostel in a Tuk Tuk, very scary but had to be done! It's pretty cheap too! Ended up going to an Irish bar last night, Molly Malone's, got a pint of Strongbow, 5 quid, won't be doing that again. It's very hot and humid but not much sun but i'm sure i'll cope with that.
