I absolutely loved the koala sanctuary! I even got to hold one, well actually cuddle one! It even decided it would have a wee sleep on me so it must've liked me just as much as i liked it! I think there was 134 koalas if i remember correctly and i think i saw almost all of them. We even got to feed kangaroos which was such a laugh cos it was a bit scary at first cos we didn't know how they would react by us being right in their face! They all seemed pretty friendly. One even decided to [View Full Entry]

Once we crossed the stateline into Queensland we had to put our watches back an hour. Quite strange having a time change when you are still in the same country! Not sure how many time lines there are in Oz, i should really find out! We stopped off at the Gold Coast for four nights and chose Surfers Paradise as our base. I could've stayed there for weeks, it was brilliant, so much to do and the beach was beautiful. You will start to see a trend in my blogs, i talk about the beaches all the time, i simply love [View Full Entry]

Byron Bay was the last place we visited in New South Wales. It was a really nice little place, well worth a visit. A lot of strange people stay there, mainly hippies. We stayed 5 nights and spent most of our time at the beach, Main Beach. To be honest there isn't much to say about Byron Bay cos as i've already said we spent most of it at the beach. We went out for a few drinks and ended up drinking the cheapest drink the Jam Jar in some bar/nightclub we went to. Can't quite remember what it was but [View Full Entry]

We spent 3 nights in Newcastle, which was enough actually. It was a nice place but there wasn't really that much to do! We stayed at the Newcastle Backpackers in a 4 bed room with ensuite. It wasn't exactly an ensuite cos there was no toilet! The shower was ok but you couldn't really move in it or the water would be everywhere! Plus there was only a tiny little curtain covering the window which was no fun cos every man and his dog could see in!! We took a walk along the prominade which was beautiful. We saw the colourful [View Full Entry]

Happy New Year to you all! We've had a fantastic couple of weeks here. Christmas was brilliant but very strange and New Year was an amazing experience. First of all Christmas Eve we heading down to the Shark Hotel for our free xmas buffet. Now we thought it was gonna be sandwiches, sausage rolls etc but no this was a fantastic hot xmas dinner with all the trimmings! Once we had stuffed our faces (it was like we had never seen food) we headed to Scubar to receive our free glass of champagne. You'll start to notice a trend, we go [View Full Entry]

Thought i better get a blog up since i've not done it in a while! First of all just wanted to say Merry Christmas to you all!! It's very strange celebrating Christmas over here! It doesn't actually feel like Christmas, so we went out today and bought some tinsel and hats to decorate our hostel room! We're back in the city and loving it! We're staying in a hostel on Pitt Street right beside World Square. It's quite like being back in Thailand actually!! We went to a Neighbours Trivia Night on Sunday, it was fantastic! We had so much fun! [View Full Entry]

We managed to borrow a tent from friends which was very nice of them, thank you Jane and Steve! We thought we would save some money by camping and have lots of fun too! We certainly did have a laugh and probably did save some money! We headed to North Narrabeen for 2 nights. The Sydney Lakeside campsite was beautiful, great showers, kitchen, bbq area and the best bit was the bird that always greeted us by saying 'hello cookie'! We pitched our tent in record time and headed off to the shops to get some food and mainly drink! So, [View Full Entry]

Anyone who is a fan of Home and Away will obviously know Summer Bay! We took a bus from Manly up to Palm Beach to go in search of the cast from H&A, well i did anyway!! We got off the bus at the last stop and quickly found out where we had to head to see the Surf Club. We were getting closer and closer and i was so excited! I don't ask for a lot in life, all i wanted was to see Alf Stewart and did i? No, i did not! Didn't see anyone actually! There was a [View Full Entry]

It's ok i didn't get lost in the bush, but it would be quite easy to because it all looks the same! We went camping out in the bush at the weekend which was brilliant! I can't tell you the exact location because i don't know it, simple as that! It was about 150km out of Sydney tho. We headed through Hunters Valley which is the wine district, that was a beautiful place to see. We had to stop on route to buy some Dr Jurd's Jungle Juice, tasted great but it was pretty leathal but we restricted ourselves to one [View Full Entry]

We made it to Australia! We were allowed in, no questions asked, well apart to see the soles of our shoes cos we were trekking in Thailand but everything was ok and we are here!! Arrived at our hostel in Syndey near Kings Cross, what a sh*t hole! Our room was like someones bedroom (maybe even mine!) but ten times worse!! We were sharing with 2 asian guys and a girl and some other guy. I think the asians were actually living in the room and went to Uni in Oz. Anyway, our first day we headed straight to the harbour, [View Full Entry]
