Metaponto and etruscan relics! - From: Always among Family-the thread of it all
Metaponto is famous for its Greek relics not etruscan!!! Etruscan remains are found in central Italy. Basilicata used to a Greek colony of the so-called Magna Grecia.

Carnevale ogni scherzo vale - From: Carnevale-Venezia 2006
How amazing that so many can afford to r ent these eighteenth century attires. But how enjoyable it must be to walk around in incognito and silence. Rare pictures.

Your talent - From: Away
Cristina, you are such a talented writer & photographer (and, I'm sure, artist). You really bring these places to life. Don't stop! I expect to see poetry/photography/travel/cooking books by you on coffee tables around the world someday. -Daniel

Thank you - From: still living on Italian soil...ma la vita diversa
Thank you for maintaining this travel blog for everyone to read. Reading it has been an absolute pleasure and your words combined with your photos has painted an amazing picture of the world you're living in and what you're experiencing. I absolutely love the way you write. My aunt is also an artist and travelled to Italy earlier this year - she absolutely loved it. I wish you all the best with your artwork and hope that you have time to write more in your blog in the future. Kind Regards, Katei (Australia)

Kudos! - From: still living on Italian soil...ma la vita diversa
Have thoroughly enjoyed your blog and life experiences in Italy. My wife and I loved Rome, Florence, Venice in spite of the flooding, and tourist hordes (June 2002). Never enough time to experience the art in Italy. I empathize with your perfection concerning your art; My mother was an artist/writer, and never put pencil to paper, nor brush to canvas unless she was inspired by a subject...

Arrivederci.

psico-analisi - From: how inspiration
- Alberto Giacometti

Thank you for taking the time to document and share your thoughts and experiences. I am preparing for my first trip to Italy (Sicily) in May, and stumbled upon your blog quite by accident. But it does whet my appetite to be traveling and experiencing a new culture and way of doing things once again. - Presocia

Coming over - From: Remembering my camera...
I'm really enjoying your pictures, it's letting me see what to expect. I'm headed over for a little trip (all of about 9 days) in February. Be spending a bit of time around the Modena and Bologna area before headed to Rome. Let me know if there are any "Can't Miss" areas in Florence, as I'll be running around like a madman! :)

Christina- Hi, it's Ronda's sister, Robin. I've been reading your updates and enjoying it thoroughly. What a wonderful opportunity for you! I would love to do something similar, but great danes aren't very portable. I love your photos and descriptions of food, markets, light, the community and the people. Your artwork is also extremely impressive. Keep writing, I'm sure there are many like me who are anxious to read more. Safe travels- Robin

I LOVE your sketches, Cristi! - From: Images around my neighborhood
How do you get your proportions so accurate, your shading so realistic, and the poses so full of life without a LIVE MODEL!!!???? I think you should be an illustrator. You could create a Fairie book. To add to the illustrations, you could make up little stories about them, creating your own subculture of little people. You'll be R I C H $$$$ I'd be your manager, of course!! RP your SIL!xoxo
