Hey everyone! Well this will be my last blog for this part of my summer holidays. Christa and I arrived back early to Singapore at 2am after our flight had been delayed in Phuket. Hey everyone! Just an update as to what we have been up to here in Thailand. I know I already bragged about our $9.99 deal on our flight over here but I just needed to rub it in again! My sister and I flew into Phuket and immediately went down to Patong where we had an AWESOME day playing in the water and in the sun. We rented some boogie-boards which was a lot of fun, the waves were quite large so you were able to get some speed when you catch the wave right. Hey everyone! Well...to be honest it doesn't feel like we have been doing a lot but still the days seem to go fairly quickly. Christa moved into her new condo a few days ago and all I can say is...hard life! The place is amazing, she has a pool, sauna, squash court, gym, security gated entry and tennis courts. We spent one day cleaning and shopping to get the necessities and have spent a few moments freaking out while killing cockroaches (only two so far!). Well...let me begin by saying that it is important to do a little research before going to a different country, even if it is only a 40 minute bus ride from Singapore! Hey everyone! Let me begin by saying that Singapore itself is VERY expensive, a decent meal starts at probably $16 but if you are okay with McDonald's or Burger King etc, it is priced the same as at home! I shall be honest admit that we have not ate a lot of Asian food here other than rice, chicken and spring roles! I have come to find that people here love two things: SHOPPING and FOOD! Hey there everyone! Well we made it safe and sound to Singapore! Besides the 20 hour flight, all went well...well to be truthful, the trip has been great for me so far but my poor sister has had some "problems"-lost boarding pass (never found but was allowed to board last!), a hives outbreak on the plane between Calgary and L.A., then another hives outbreak here in Singapore and last but not least, all of her sunblock and lotion mysteriously gone from her luggage and let me just say...SUNBLOCK IS NOT CHEAP HERE! I survived everyone! Well what can I say about sledging? It was such a riot and it definetly gets your heart racing. I was picked up at the hostel this morning at 8am by my two guides who were quit the characters-they were a lot of fun! Driving out to the river I was reading the comment book and read things like "be prepared to kiss some rocks" or "thanks for rescuing me" etc and i was getting a little nervous (okay quite nervous).
