Days 49 - 51 Adelle left todat think she'd just had enough had been a bit quiet for last week so prob for the best?! Went out to try and find some clothes today as it's got so hot, but the sizes are all soooo small i ended up with two pairs of mens shorts, the girls only go up to a 29 waist if your lucky?! Days 46-48 Woke up freezing this morning cos of the air con and headed out of the room where the heat hit me like getting off a plane.. Went out for a stroll to see what was about and had to go back to the hostel as it was soo hot!! Sat for a while to cool down and then went food shopping, picked up what i thought was rice, veg and sweets (sugar coated skittles mmm!!) but when i got nack and opened the rice it smelt so bad it made me gag!! Days 42 - 45 Woke up this morning and climbed down from bed not feeling so great after consuming all those beverages last night, had to get a cab to the hostel as it was quite far but it was really nice and out of the way of the city which was nice.. Also on the river so a nice view on a clear day of the city.. Days 39 - 41 Got into Shanghai around 7am ad could see the fog as we approached on the train.. Managed to get a cab quite easily as we had a card for the hostel and we went straight there and checked in.. We then tried to find a Mc Donalds with no luck so headed back to the hostel and ate in their cafe which is pretty nice, sofa, tv, pool table and a bar.. Days 34 - 38 Arrived in Beijing around 14:30ish said goodbye to everyone and attempted to get a cab to a hostel only to find the cab driver hadn't understood a word we'd said and kept stopping to ask people if they spoke english and help translate, ended up getting out the cab and walking back to the station.. We phoned someone we'd met on the trans siberian rail and they met us and took us to their hostel which was about a 15 minute walk and right next to the forbidden city which was good.. Days 30 - 33 At last finally arrrived in Ulaanbaatar and we met our tour guide and the rest of the group before heading to a hotel for a shower YAY!! All of us really happy to arrive at the showers until we saw thesign bathhouse.. Turned out we just had a room with about 5 showers in, ha ha ha.. After everyone had had the most awkward shower EVER we headed to breakfast :) it wasone sausage and half an omlette so not the fry up i'd hoped for so i just filled up on the rolls.. Days 25 - 30 We arrived at the train station for our 21:30 train and were sightly dssapointed to see that the train was exactly the same as all the rest.. Just four beds in a cabin no bigger the same horrible toilets and no fresh air!! We had another person in our cabin as well who spoke no English... She was a nice woman though and gave a chocolate ech before we went to bed (score).. Days 23 - 25 After our trip from St Petersburg we arrived at our hotel abut 06:30 and were looking forward to going back to bed.. However after about 10 mins we realised this wasn't going to be as easy as checking in should be, as they didn't seem to have our reservation.. We just kinda took it and so for the next hour and half went to the other surrounding hotels to try and find out where we supposed to be before ringing our travel agency we had booked with.. Day 16 Lviv - Kiev We decided not to stop at Kiev as it was more of an industrial/buisiness city than somewhere to see so thought we'd just go there then straight through to Moscow although it wasn't as quick as we'd hoped!! We didn't know wht time the train was to Kiev only knew there was 4 a day so went there early hopefully to catch an early one..
