I am traveling Europe starting April 31st for 3 months.
MAY: Amit and I are travelling together for the first month. We're going to England -> France -> Spain -> Portugal -> Italy -> Greece. Amit then has to go back to work for CRA.
JUNE: This leg of the tour is TBD (going to wing it). Plans include: Northern Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, and Belgium....suggestions?
JULY: I will be spending the early part of July in Paris with my family. We will then be taking a Mediterranean cruise. The 12-day cruise starts in Venice and will be stopping in Croatia (Split), Greece (Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Katakolon) and Turkey (Istanbul, Kusadasi, Epheseus).
Keep in touch!
Cheers,
Jason
Hey all. So here's another update (hopefully a few of these will be coming out fairly soon)...this time on Barcelona. Amit and I took the night train to Madrid where we were then going to get a connection to Barcelona. Well apparently the ticket booth guy thought we were doing the Madrid-Barcelona leg of the trip before the Lisbon-Barcelona leg because he reserved us seats for a train the day earlier. It was actually a blessing in disguise because it gave us time to sit in the train station and realize that we wanted more time for Barcelona. That's where we made the decision to skip Marseille (for now) and go right to Rome...via 22 hour ferry. The first day, we pretty much spent the entire time going from ferry port to train station and back

So Amit and I got into Lisbon (from Madrid) rather eary in the morning after a night train. We upgraded to the bed from a train seat and it was well worth it. I think the first thing Amit and I noticed about Lisbon was that it was much smaller than anticipated. Maybe it had to do with the fact that Madrid was our last stop, but the city just seemed small for a capital. Also- there is no such thing as flat ground. The city is filled with peaks and valleys...like on the side of a mountain. Its funny because you think you are right

Lisbon has been fun, but 4 days is definitely more than enough. Atleast it gave us a chance to get caught up on the blog and do some much needed laundry. Amit and I got in to Madrid from San Sebastian around 10pm and beamed straight to dinner. The smoked meat sandwiches and pizzas were even better here than San Sebastian, if thats even possible. Luckily this time we got to our hostel without so much as a bump in the road. It was actually in a great location right downtown beside 'Puerta Del Sol'...this is a square in Madrid known for its huge protests. When they protested

So after enjoying the big city of Paris, we took off on an evening train to San Sebastian. Its amazing after being in Paris seeing how much the locals can make or break your experience. Amit and I arrived and could tell the difference within minutes. First of all, the owner/proprietor kept his office open late to wait for us to arrive. Normally closing at 10pm, he stayed until near midnight to wait for us to arrive. Also, thanks to us taking a left instead of a right out of the train station we were totally lost. While wandering with a fellow from Brazil

We've got a couple of hours until we jump on a train to Madrid, so I figured it was a good time to let you know how Paris was. We got into Paris early evening on Monday and made our way to the hostel...or so we thought. Apparently there is a difference between a "rue" and a "boulevard" in Paris (our first lesson). After a long trek through the north end of Paris, we finally stumbled upon our destination. Again, Canadians dominated the hostel. Our first night we went straight down to the Eiffel tower to get night pictures and watch the nightly light show. Hopefully the video I took of the tower works and you can all check it out. Its an

... read moreHey all! So Amit and I are at the end of day 4 on our trip and what an adventure it has been thus far! We spent Saturday/Sunday and part of Monday (our time +5hrs) in London. The city was as packed as ever, as it was a long weekend for Londoners. Thanks to both our prior visits to London, Amit and I were able to move around the city on the tube without looking like tourists. Weather is quite cold. We've seen a ton of Canadians in London (more than Americans/Aussies/Kiwis...). All we can talk about is how we left warm weather in Ontario (27 I believe) for 12. Luckily I brought a total of 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of sweats and 1 sweatshirt. For the last two days in London, I
