Country Comes to China

We had the pleasure of making a weekend trip to Qianshan Mountain. It is in Northeast China about 20 kilometers away from Anshan City. We were with a group from work. Qianshan ( Mountain of A Thousand Peaks) because its peaks interweave one another nearly amount to one thousand. It is the sacred land of Buddhism and Taoism with Buddhist and Taoist temples and monasteries. The scenery was beauiful with many paved foot paths that climb steeply up the hillsides through thick forest. These foot paths lead past, Steele, honouring the dead, small shrines, pagodas and temples. These are active temples to this day. We arrived in Beijing China on the worst possible weekend that you could schedule a trip. When we walked out of the airport I was very disappointment to see the (lack of) skyline. It was foggy and overcast, which I thought was smog. I did make the comment that the skyline looked like Shenyang. After arriving at the hotel we went out walking to find the US Embassy, we found every country but the US, I know it was around that area but could not find. Later that evening a friend and coworker of my husbands arrived and he took us out to enjoy some Western cursine and music, had a great time. Hello yall As you have seen from my blogs there is a lot of high rises here, some as tall as 40 stories or more. Where we are we have large windows from floor to ceiling. Due to all the constuction all over the city, the windows are very dirty. I have attempted several time to try to hang out the windows and try to clean them, not happening. So I have been questioning my husband to try to find out if the community washers the windows in the spring. Have not found that out yet.
