Hey there everyone! We are now safely home after an incredible six and a half months! Very disorientating and we're very jet lagged but it is good to be back. So here is what we got up to in our last bit of time away. We left New Zealand, after the most amazing 2 1/2 months there, without a doubt will be returning. We flew from Christchurch to Auckland and then on to Nadi, in Fiji. We arrived in the evening so went straight to a backpackers, Nomads Skylodge which was fine for a night's stop, had everything we needed, including [View Full Entry]

Hello Hello! Well, this is our final Blog from New Zealand! We cant believe how quickly 2 and a half months can go. We have had a great time these past few weeks. Especially as i (issie) turned a quarter of a century old!! nooooooooooooooooooooo! ...thanks for the Birthday Wishes :) The celebrations (preparation) could be traced back to our visit to Renwick, in the Marlborouch Region, famous for its wine. Here we did a wine tour. It was wonderful and yummy. We visited about 6 wineries and they are very generous with their samples, which we thoroughly approved of. It [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, our time in New Zealand seems to be running out very quickly so here is what we've been up to in the last week: We had a couple more days in Dunedin, Hogwarts was difficult to leave but we did go to the lovely farmers market, we're complete suckers for markets and this was definetly one of the better ones. We also went to the world's steepest street, Baldwin Street, and it was incredibly steep, we decided against driving up it though as our Nissan Sunny complains going up the slightest incline. From Dunedin we then spent a perfect [View Full Entry]

Where to begin... We seem to have done quite a lot since we last wrote. We left Wanaka in the pouring rain and took the scenic route to Queenstown - along the highest sealed road in New Zealand...oh how the car struggled! But it did lead to some incredible views and wound round the edges of big blue lakes (not that i was looking - cos i was driving... ;) We were expecting Queenstown to be a bit full on and pushy with bungi jumps and stuff, but actually we found it to be a great laid back city. A trip [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, we've made it to the South Island and were having a fantastic time so far. It really is so different from the North as it feels much more remote (only 30% of NZ's live here) and the landscape is much more how you imagine NZ to be with huge mountains etc. Our first stop here was Nelson where we stayed over Easter which meant it was very quiet with everything closed but the Saturday market is definetly worth seeing. It has so much quality local produce, arts, crafts and everything you can think of really so we spent the [View Full Entry]

Hey! Sorry its been such a long time. And still no photos - promise we will get ourselves sorted, especially as we have a rather smart new camera! We are leaving the North Island tommorrow, so i had better update you on the last 2 weeks. We have done a rather zig-zag route - but it has meant we have seen a lot of the North and have been moving pretty much everyday! After picking up our 2nd car we headed to Rotorua or 'sulphur city' ... hmmm,.. the smell comes from the huge amount of thermal activity that the area [View Full Entry]

Hi all from New Zealand! Somehow we have managed to make it here after 4 months travelling and we are already in love with it. We've been here about 2 weeks but we have had a little hold up so we're back in Auckland. The reason is that we had a little car accident last Saturday so have come back to pick up a new rental car. We were driving along a very small narrow, windy road in the pouring rain and lost control of the car and went head on into the side of the cliff. We have so much [View Full Entry]

We made it back to Sydney... Once the road opened the following morning we managed some BIG driving days. With coffee as our drug and Cordy as the in-car DJ we had some 6am starts and just drove south for hours at a time! We even had time to go to the Blue Mountains before going back to Sydney. Unfourtunately we didnt have time to go to Fraser Island, big shame, but we hear the road was closed to it anyway :( Note to self...dont visit Queensland in the rainy season though apparently its has been a particuarly bad rainy season. Hey everyone, we've done quite a bit since our last blog so here goes.... We tore ourselves away from our beloved Melbourne, we've both decided that we absolutely have to go back because it's so awesome. On our last couple of days we chilled out in the Botanic Gardens, went to the Ian Potter Centre for Aussie Art and went to the Museum (v. sadly the Neighbours set had been taken away!!) So with a sad farewell we got on our flight and jetted up to Cairns. As we got off the plane we were hit with the most incredible humidity, [View Full Entry]

Hello Hello!! We made it safely to Melbourne...just, Mavis wanted to leave a lasting impression on us and started making thumping noises whenever i braked. Not funny in the pouring rain in the busy suburbs of Melbourne. Luckily we turned down a little lane and found a RAC garage (what are the chances?!) Cordy went and made car noises at the guys in the garage and they said something about break pads...but we drove on and got her back in one piece. A little foolishly because we like vans with particular quirks, we have booked with the same company to do [View Full Entry]
