| 3rd October 2005 Dave | Glaciers - From: Down the side of the World’s highest volcano on a bike Dunno if I'm supposed to be the Dave with the knowledge of physical geography, but my guess would be that the temperature is low enough in average conditions for the existing ice not to melt but high enough that a large body of water such as the lake does not freeze. They call these sorts of volcanoes "calderas". |
