After working for almost five years as a customs officer I realized, that this is not what I am supposed to do... So I took the chance and did what I always wanted to do, I started a new carrier in the travel industry. During and after my studies I got the chance to work for over a year in Ecuador and Galapagos in different travel agencies and tour operators. After backpacking through Australia, Canada, USA and Europe, Southamerica had offered me something completely different and I really fell in love with this interesting continent... Nachdem ich diese 4 Wochen an der Sonne Ecuadors verbrachte, gings wieder einmal zurück in die Schweiz, natürlich direkt in den Winter. Naja, so richtig kalt wurde es ja nicht unbedingt und im Februar war es fast jeden Tag sonnig. Das lockte auch mich wieder mal aufs Brett und ich genoss mit meinem Bruder ein paar Tage in Davos und besuchte auch noch Isabel, eine Freundin in Thun. Ich muss zugeben, so ein bisschen Schnee ist doch ganz schön und wenn die Sonne von Herzen scheint und wir auf dem Berggipfel einen Kaffie Fertig geniessen, vergisst man alle Sorgen. Diving in the Galapagos Islands at New Year

Another year's around... and where I am? again on the southern hemisphere, in Ecuador, exactely in Galapagos. After my semestrial exams I immediately took the plane to Ecuador, Galapagos for a four weeks holiday, visiting my friends. I did not move around too much, but enjoyed the sun and the beach. Those things I missed most back in Switzerland. Apart from hanging around Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz I also did some amazing dives. I went with Hotel Silverstein to Gorden Rocks. Nach einem sehr bewegten Jahr in Südamerika und dieser wunderschönen Reise durch Europa zeigte sich der Alltag von seiner üblichen Seite. Ich besuchte jeden Tag die Internationale Schule für Touristik an der Josefstrasse in Zürich und versuchte mich aufs Lernen zu konzentrieren. Trotzdem entriss ich mich ab und zu aus den Fängen des Alltags und verreiste ein bisschen aus Zürich. An einem schönen Herbstwochenende begaben sich Seera und ich nach Lugano um Nadine zu besuchen. WOW, was für ein Schiff, die letzten 5 Tage hatte ich eine super Gelegenheit auf dem wohl schönsten Segelschiff des Archipels gratis mitzureisen. Mein neuer Freund und Boss hat mich eingeladen auf die Mary Anne und ich lernte nicht nur das Schiff, sondern auch die tolle Tierwelt der Galapagos näher kennen. In unserem Itinerario besuchten wir vorallem die nördlichen Inseln. von North Seymour, über Sombrero chino, weiter gings um Isabela herum an die westliche Küste der grossen Insel bis hin nach Fernandina,wo wir den Flightless Cormorant sehen konnten. Scuba Galapagos war wohl eher eine Entäuschung. Ich möchte mich kurz fassen, denn dieses Kapitel von Galapagos habe ich abgeschrieben. Nun ich lernte schon einiges, als ich bei Carlos für die Encantada gearbeitet habe, aber es war nicht unbedingt das, was ich erwartete . Ausserdem kann ich diesem Menschen nicht mehr trauen und so kann man ja wohl gar nicht für jemanden arbeiten. Ich habe viel gelernt über die Menschen hier, die guten sowie die schlechten Seiten. vacaciones en la costa

Nachdem ich noch 3 Wochen bei Willi gearbeitet habe, gönnte ich mir eine Woche Ferien, bevor es dann zu meiner zweiten Stelle bei Scuba Galapagos ging. Ich verbrachte deshalb eine Woche an der ecuadorianischen Küste, genauer gesagt in Puerto Lopez und Montanita. Wir blieben ganze 3 Tage in der Hosteria Mandala bei Maya und Aurelio, ein Schweiz-Italienisches Ehepaar. Die Hosteria ist ein Traum und Puerto Lopez ist ein kleines verträumtes Fischerdorf, welches auf den ersten Blick nicht viel Charme versprüht, aber beim genauer hinschauen ist es sehr schön. Happy New Year!!!!!!!! After a very quiet christams which I celebrated with some friends in my new house in Quito, and who I just met a couple of hours before... New Year was a bit more exciting. I didnt now where I should celebrate this "big day" which acutally just is a day like every other, no?! On the 3rd of December Nadine and I flew from Guayaquil to the famous Galapagos Islands. We didnt know what to expect but it was defenately not what we saw. This 5 days on the cruise ship Encantada were really unbelievable. I can't tell you everything we did and saw, but everyday we just had a full program. We saw Blue footed boobies, red footed boobies, fragate birds, lots of sealions, iguanas, turtles and even more marine life. Nadine and I were traveling from Quito, the Capital of Ecudor all the way down to Peru and flew from the border directly to Lima, the Capital of Peru. In Lima we did not stay for a long time, but wanted to continue as soon as possible to Cusco where we started our 4 days walking journey, the Inka trail. The first day we managed without any problems, on the second day we came to our limits, reaching peaks and walking and walking and walking without seeing an end. A new challenge was offered me, when I accepted the job for Positiv Turismo in Quito, Ecuador. I did not know what expect me there and I did not know the language at all, but I did know that it will be an adventure of a lifetime. I left Switzerland on the 22nd of June 2006 and intendet to come back home after more or less half a year.
