2 June 2002 I followed my usual direction through Yea, Seymour. When I was near the Shepparton airport I saw a yellow stunt plane fly low over the runway. It was about five hundred feet high and did three victory rolls before climbing high into the sky. As it reached a pre-determined altitude it rolled over and dived for the ground, pulling out at the last minute close to the runway then did another circuit of the airport. I pulled the car to the side of the road got my video camera out and ran across to the airport. I was [View Full Entry]

3 June 2002 This is the third year I have worked in Griffith and I must say the lady’s who run this Kindergarten are very helpful and easy to get on with. Today I only had nineteen children to photograph and they gave me lots of smiles and were a pleasure to work with. In the afternoon I went to a National Park about twenty klms east of town. The last time I was here I found a walking track that I promised myself, would be explored at a later date. At the end of a fifteen-minute walk I found a [View Full Entry]

19 May 2002 I made sure my fuel tank was full before leaving for my journey into NSW. The trip through Yea and Seymour was with overcast skys looming overhead. Every now and again spots of rain fell on the windcreen but the further from home the better the weather became. Once into NSW there was only about an hour and half of my trip left until the outscirts of Deniliquin was reached. I booked into the Centrepoint Motel just on 4 pm. That evening I went to the RSL for a meal but not before I photographed the local flocks [View Full Entry]

24 May 2002 I left Deniliquin and drove thirty-six klms south to Mathara which took about half an hour. When I arrived in town I had to drive up and down the back streets to find the pre-school. The address the office had given me was wrong. Once I spotted the climbing frames under a large cover I knew I had found the Mathara Pre-School. I went inside and surprised the two lady’s working in the Center, it seems they weren’t expecting me until June. I decided to get in touch with my office to let them know about the mix [View Full Entry]

25 May 2002 I paid the accommodation and food bill then left Deniliquin just as the sun was starting to climb above the horizon. Thirty-three klms northeast of Deniliquin the town of Conargo was passed. I travelled east towards Jerilderie then Lockhart. Although it was a back road I was still able to maintain a good speed until I came across a large heard of cattle. Some of the stock decided to cross the road so I had to stop. In fact they took so long to pass I decided to drive, very slowly through the their ranks, filming with the [View Full Entry]

21 May 2003 I knew from a previous trip that Tangambaganga has no accommodation so I stopped overnight in Wodonga, which was thirty-five kilometres to the north. The next morning I left the motel and followed the road that skirts Lake Hume. I appreciate driving to work through picturesque scenery, life is much more relaxing and I tend to forget about the fact that I'm not earning that much money. I remembered the teachers a couple of years ago at the centre were easy to get along with. On this trip I wasn't disappointed, the two laddies in charge helped make [View Full Entry]

19 May 2003 I spent Sunday afternoon driving to Mooroopna. Not much life in town, even less going on in the bistro next to the motel. During the remaining hours of the day I read the books and magazines bought along with me on this trip. This morning I got ready for the first of two days work in the local Kindergarten. The weather was wet and took outside shots whenever there was a break in the weather. In the afternoon drove into Shepparton and found the towns library, such visits are becoming common. I'm fed-up walking the main shopping centres; [View Full Entry]

12 MAY 2002 Sunday morning I was heading east along the Princes Highway to Stratford. Three hours behind the wheel wasn't too much to handle. I booked into a Budget Motel close to the centre I was due to work in tomorrow. In England there is a town called Stratford and it has a river called Avon, this town in the east of Victoria has the same name and the river Avon close by. Here in Australia I don't know what was named first the town or the river. The names haven't been lost on the residents; every year here in [View Full Entry]

5 MAY 2002 It was close to midnight when I was driving home from a debutante ball where I had been working with a couple of other photographers when it occurred to me that my life is far from boring. Photography has given me some sort of uncertainty; I very rarely do the same thing day after day. Granted having children between the ages of one to four in front of the camera most days of the week, could be looked upon as the same thing. Working in so many different centres, I feel as if I'm starting a new job [View Full Entry]
