| 17th January 2007 Incalisbeth | WAUWWW!!! - From: Babe With A Backpack Returns Hey, how buzy are you these days!! I am for the moment on a visit in Belgium because I missed Christmas at home, so you know, presents and dinners are now my main concern!! And I am already thinking how to lose the kilo's again after these two weeks:-) my second concern! But Next week we will be back in Egypt were we will stay for the winter, so we are still sailing, and now also diving!! Fantastic, realy, we have been diving with dolphins for a compleet hour last time! So we are also enjoying our time, and with Johan is everything realy back to normal! No complaints! I guess there is a down in every relationship and we overcame it well, luckily! As you can see my English is still not much better, but my Arabic is though! :-) It was nice to have news from you and I will also keep you posted on our scedule, and if you would hit Egypt by any chance in the near future, let us know so we can make a nice boatparty!!! I wish you all the best for 2007 and wish you all of luck with all your projects, traveling, intervieuws etc.... The next project for us would be driving the silk route from Venice to Shanghai, but it may take some more years before we reach that goal, but it is really my dream to do that!! We'll see what happens but in the mean time we sail a little and that's also big fun!! big hug and kiss XX |

| 17th December 2006 julian | cafe con piernas - From: A Taste of Chile first, i'm glad you enjoyed your time in chile. second, my grandmother lives in the same building your hostel was in, el portal fernandez concha. third, that cafe in your picture really isn't a cafe con piernas. if i'm not mistaken, it's one of the many "cafe haiti" around downtown, which is a pretty standard male-oriented coffee shop. the cafe's with legs are actually in tinted windows and the servers usually only wear a swimsuit/bikini or lingerie, not just short shirts like these lovely ladies in the picture. i've enjoyed your travels very much. hope you keep travelling. |
| 7th October 2006 Chris Mount | Wow...... I'm so jelous of your travels - From: Canadian visit home...Vancouver, Kelowna and the Island Who would have thought after 5 plus years of not talking that we'd meet today in a :Coffee House" of all places! It was a pleasure to see you again and catch up; be it ever so briefly. I can't wait to see your show here in Van, if there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask..... You can reach me at cdmounty@shaw.ca, or 604.831.5126. Take care, Chris Mount (la maison de poissons) |

| 19th July 2006 Ron | Just to prove i've been reading - From: A few days in Australia... Hey, good to see pictures of sydney again, it is a very good place i assume you were staying in the big youth hostel at the bottom of george street, my god that one's very exspensive. A lot better than my one bedroom in balmain. It's a big place and needs at least 1 month to see all it's charms, even then you'll miss bits. Ron (well done on the blog, it's very good) |
| 10th July 2006 Sandy | Where R U? - From: Friendly Manitoba Missing your travels! |
| 29th June 2006 Catherine | 'Glad you saw boot camp! - From: Moose Tales Under the Saskatchewan Skies Hello Fiona, It is great to see you back online. I guess you sorted out the computer glitches. It was wonderful seeing you in Ontario and I hope all goes well back in the UK. Please keep in touch. I am happy you went to the RCMP's Depot where all recruits are trained. I was one of them back in '86 and I can tell you, it is rough! Recruits want to "earn" their boots because then they can march from class to class instead of running. It is paramilitary but has become more "collegiate" than in the past, focussing on the studies with a little less on the discipline aspect. I would have to say it is THOROUGH! Some of my college grads are heading that way in the next year, or so. My neighbour has been redoing the museum for almost six months. Was it still a work in progress while you were there? Catherine |
| 28th June 2006 alex | fiona - From: Friendly Manitoba have fun!!!! come visit my wife and i in calgary. alex |

| 10th March 2006 Coffeecat | Hostel Route 66 - From: In and Out of New Mexico I hope everybody heading over to New Mexico does spend some time with Paul and Cathy at the the hostel, they seem to know the area and can educate all of us at the same time! And as the grouchy staff member has moved there is more to smile about!! |
| 9th March 2006 Paul and Cathy | Ellusive New Mexico - From: In and Out of New Mexico Fiona, Sometimes its tough for a small hostel to provide service arround the clock, but we need at least to be polite about it! As for New Mexico, there is much to be discovered here, but it takes work. We have the best varves in the world. Our ancient pueblos are really special, but the inhabitants may be rather secretive, yet friendly ( paraphrase of a pueblo leaders recent comments). Thanks for your brief visit, photos are great! |

| 29th September 2005 anonymous | seemed like a good idea at the time. - From: Finally, a beach holiday that was a good night, a good week in fact but it all changed at about 8 the next morning. one of the single worst experiences of my life. the boat and bus to bangkok that day were a semi living hell. but enough about that. its best to try and forget lest we never drink again. we liked ko chang so much that when we collected our friends in bangkok we just turned right around and went back. |
| 28th September 2005 Charlotte | oozing trees! - From: Cambodia continues A-ha! you have made it to my ultimate destination.. those temples with the trees take my breath away every time.. what came first i wonder? The butterflies are so beautiful... the pic with the orchid and the butterfly would be a perfect poster.. how serene it must have been to be relaxing in the butterfly place! | 22nd September 2005 Brad | A korean restaurant in Sihanoukville? - From: Crazy Coffeecat in Cambodia Hi! I was in Cambodia several years ago and am planning on going back in November. I'm wondering how things have changed in that time. I live in Korea now, and if there was a Korean restaurant in Sihanoukville two years ago then I missed it. I'm hooked on kimchi! Sihanoukville was a very sleepy little town when I was there...barely seemed alive at times...I went swimming in the sea and could count the other beach bums on my fingers. I was there in March...I think...I don't know why it was so empty. Where did you find out about the snorkeling boat? I didn't see that when I was there two years ago either. Sounds fun....good descriptions! |

| 27th July 2005 Inger-Lene | Skydive - From: The Namibian Adventure Dear Fiona, great journal, I enjoy the read. Since our joint attempt to do a skydive in Namibia was ruined due to sand storm, I had to find another spot. It turned out to be Plettenberg Bay in South Africa. I am telling you: you just have to do it. It was f...king awesome!! I was terrified in the plane, but once your out there, it is no way back and it was absolutely fantastic. It is hereby recommended to everyone. Plettenberg Bay is suppose to be one of the most scenic jumps in the world, beautiful coastline. Go Fiona!!
