Cioa Tutti! Well, my little European experience has finally come to an end. I spent it the last few days traveling Southern Italy with my Aunt, Uncle, and their two friends, Charlie and Theresa. We had a lot of fun, did a lot of traveling, a lot of good eating and a lot of soaking up the sun. After my trip back from Bosnia and Croatia, I headed to Hotel Selene where I would meet my Aunt and Uncle later in the day. I enjoyed having some time to myself in the room to fresh up and relax. After I walked [View Full Entry]

Well, my school semester ended Wednesday, April 29th after three months in Florence (Firenze) and 8 days in Rome (Roma). The last few days in Rome were good, but I was ready to leave because it was too overwhelming with millions of tourists. Also, the ways to get around and to town were strange because we had to take metro’s (which were fine) but the buses didn’t have schedules. So, it was impossible to really plan a time to get into or leave town. On Sunday, a group of us left at 6:30 in the morning to make our way to [View Full Entry]

I think this travelblog is going to be one ongoing one for the whole week. I am in Rome for about 8 days, and we have a lot of sightseeing we are going to do. The best part about it, is there is NO school (we are DONE!) and we just get to spend the time traveling, my favorite thing to do. Some of the highlights of the trip include attending a Papal Audience, going on the Scavvy Tour to see under St. Peters Basillica, touring the Vatican museums (for free this Sunday), and seeing the Collesum and Ancient Roman ruins. As I spent the past few hours today just enjoying Florence, I am so grateful for this experience to study abroad. I have been able to see so much and do so much, it has been truly life changing (but don’t worry Holly, I’m still me :p ). I know as a group, we all had a week or two where we were sick of each other, and sick of living in such a small place sometimes, but the group of people I have been with has really helped to make this experience wonderful and we have so many memories together. Munich Germany!

I spent Spring Break this year in Germany and it was wonderful. I didn’t think I was going to have the opportunity to go to Germany, but after getting in contact with some relatives, I booked a flight and planned my Spring Break out. I stayed with Guenther and Ilse Staedele (distant cousins) who live in Sontheim, Germany, about an hour and a half outside of munich. It was worth every Euro spent, and even though it was a short trip, we made the most of it, and saw so much - it was GREAT. I headed on my solo journey [View Full Entry]

Bonjour! So, I never thought we could see most of Paris (okay, probably an overstatement, but definitely a lot of it) in one jam packed day. But, we managed to do it somehow! We headed out later Friday to catch our plane from Pisa. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t exactly as excited about Paris as I had been for the other trips. In fact, I almost didn’t go since I had been so sick. But, I went and after going, I’ve decided Paris was definitely a city worth seeing and I’d love to go back and see the other [View Full Entry]

Ah, this weekend was Poland, one of my top places to visit. Poland was great, even though it seemed like it ended with everything that could possibly go wrong, going wrong. But, let me start by telling you the good part of the trip. The trip started out fairly smoothly. We got up super early on Friday morning (nothing out of the ordinary here), caught our train to Milan, made it to the airport, and got on our plane. It was hard to find a cheap flight to Poland and after asking a friend how they flew to Poland when they [View Full Entry]

Solo trip to Lucca Europe » Italy » Tuscany » Lucca
Good Afternoon (well, afternoon for me at least), Sunday, I took a solo trip to Lucca, Italy, a little medieval town situated behind giant walls in Northern Tuscany and near the Liguarian Sea. It was established a very long time ago, and hold's history through protective walls, and the historical streets. The walls, which stand 115ft wide at the base and up to 40 ft tall, were created to protect the town from cannon balls during attacks which occurred often during the Middle Ages. And, another really cool thing about it is that my Grandpa's dad, Frank Becherucci, was born there. [View Full Entry]

What a week. On Monday morning, all of the BC students staying in Villa Morghen for the semester had to pack up all the stuff from their rooms, and move out for the week. We had a trip (which was originally only supposed to be a few days) to see Assisi and Perugia. However, the Villa had a big conference going on the week we were going to be gone, so they extended our stay in Assisi and Perugia. This way, they could have our rooms for all the people going to the conference to stay. It was quite the task [View Full Entry]
