I was definately nominated for SubSaharan Africa, to do health extension and leave in June...nothing I can do about it (I tried) so Instead of worrying Im getting very excited, It will be completely new to me. Happy New Year! - From: Rice Paddies and Moto Drivers
Dear Courtney and Chris, Loved your update. If I had an address ;) I'd send this card: "What we can learn from a dead battery: In life, there must be both the positive and the negative, or stuff won't work." After your great introduction, I'd like to visit Cambodia, too. Crossing the border into Spain had a similar effect on me. I hope you both enjoy the mysteries of Angkor. Not to worry; it costs about the same as Petra. Know that when you look at the night sky, we'll be looking at it thinking of you, too.

The adventure continues! - From: Luang Prabang, ville a la Francee!
Courtney and Chris-- Your descriptions are beautiful and the pictures really help to put us in the scene. We can almost feel the river--in everything you guys are doing. Glad you're getting to connect with people from so many other countries as you wander. I can remember talking with "Vientiane Radio" controllers in the late 60's as we flew across Laos at 10,000 feet--high enough to avoid any ground fire (we hoped). I was always glued to the window in the daytime, gazing at the beautiful mountains and valleys of Laos. Would you give us some more info on prices for things as you travel: guesthouses, food, transportation--always interesting for comparison... Looking forward to your blog on Hanoi. Love you, Cam and Donna

Courtney--and now, Chris, Thanks for sending word that your other half has made it to Chiang Mai--the joint travels begin! Your photos and word pictures continue to be wonderful-- Seems as if you've really "absorbed" much of the Thai culture. No surprise, of course. Maybe we'll see more pictures of you, now that you have a camera-partner-person... How about some comments on the availability/process/cost of internet access? It must take you a fair amount of time to do your writing and load photos. Love you, Uncle Cam and Aunt Donna

Court - These are some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen! You captured that lantern release meticulously. That has to have been one of the most memorable things you'll ever see...it's all downhill from there! Kidding. I think the epic adventures are just starting for you... Love your detailed blog. Keep it up. Chris (your husband) and I eagerly await the next entry! Take care Court. -Tobias

I wish I could have been there to share a room with you that night. :( and maybe share a hug? Lol - Im glad you felt better in the morning and found what seems to be an awesome vegetarian place. was there tofu on a stick perhaps? lol Anyways I wanted to let you know that not many people ever do the things you have done and I am sure not many people ever will. Crying yourself to sleep sometimes can feel good and I hope you know how incredibly brave you are. Can you imagine me sleeping alone in a room in Thailand? I think not- But I hope I could do it! Love you-

Wonderful wonderful - From: Sukhothai Kingdom
What an amazing journey you are making (yet again)! I love your pictures, especially the one of the elephant painting. Even without your photography this is an amazing travelblog. You really should publish a book (or two or three) to inspire the rest of us. Miss you and all the fun times in Arizona, but I hope to meet up with you (and Chris!) someday in a distant local but not so distant future. Take care!

Feels as if we're there! - From: "Watch out for the elephant!".....
Court, You've heard this from us before, but your writing is wonderful! It makes us feels as if we are there with you (although we would probably want to miss the "exhausting" hikes through the mountains of NW Thailand...) You're descriptions of the "scenes" in Chaing Mai--especially in the markets--take me back to my Air Force days when we spent so much time in Bangkok. I remember being fairly adventurous but drawing the line at trying the "bolut" (I think that's the spelling) from the street vendors. They take a nearly-hatched chicken out of the egg and grill it... Hmmm. On that note, we hope you'll keep the fantastically-descriptive blog going--we love it! Love you, Donna and Cam

AHHHHH - From: Hill Tribe Trekking
AH Courtney!!! I have so many questions!!! hehe It sounds amazing! Did you eat a silk worm?! Why did they wrap your lunch in a banana leaf? It looked so gorgeous though! And did they make the bamboo spoons as you went a long or pack them in with you? Did the guide pack in food or did you eat what you found along the way "jungle food?" Well I guess you did say you ate a lot of rice and Im assuming it didnt come pre cooked from the jungle. lol! It sounds like you had an amazing time. How much longer will you be with the Brits? This trip sounds absolutley wonderful. I love the pictures, keep posting!!! Love, Anne

Your adventure with the Brits sound wonderful!!! I would love to be there with you and I am trying so hard to imagine what it looks like when you say the temples are reflecting back across the glossy water. It sounds sooooo beautiful!! Be safe!
