Wow! I just felt my first earthquake today!! While driving on our way to see Pearl Harbor, our van began to shake. It felt like the engine was about to stall and the van shook a little bit. It never occured to me that an earthquake was happening. Once we arrived at Pearl Harbor, everything looked normal on the gray, rainy day. There was a long line waiting to enter the park except for a park ranger with a megaphone. He explained that an earthquake had just hit the big island and knocked out the power to our island. Needless to say, Pearl Harbor was closed until further notice. This was a disappointment to me because I wanted to pay my respects to the thousands of souls who were killed here.
