Even though I was enjoying my trip to Cote d'Azur, I did lament a bit that I was unable to leave France in order to visit more of continental Europe as planned. I had heard a lot about Lyon before coming to France, however I just wanted to go and see what it was like. I had heard that apparently the cuisine was quite famous and that there was a lot of history. I was able to take a TGV train from Dijon to Lyon, which took about 30 minutes to an hour. The next day I woke up early, around 8 am so that I could enjoy some of the nice continental breakfast buffet that was set up at my hotel and also get an early start at sightseeing.
