Thanks and enjoy! January 4, 2007- I end up waking up around 11 AM GMT, therefore all I have time to do is take the metro from Disneyland Paris to the Les Invalides station in order to find my hotel for the next two days. I finally arrived to my hotel around 4 PM GMT, so all I had time for was dinner. I ended up purchasing some grapes and a rotisserie chicken from a local grocery store just down the street. I also picked up two buche de noels, the last of the holiday season, for me to consume during ... read more

More updated entries and trips will NOT have a note like this. Thank you! January 2, 2007, around 9 AM GMT- I get ready to leave my hostel in order to head to the train station and head to my next destination, Paris. I wanted to go back because all and all I had had only 3 days to actually visit Paris as a tourist, and I realized that there was still much of the city I had not seen and/or fully visited. For example, I had only seen the exterior facade of the Louvre with my Parisian friend (for more info please refer to blog entry with the ... read more

An updated entry or trip will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! December 27, 2006-I had no choice now but to head back to Dijon in order to drop of my souvenirs and repack in order to head to my next stop, Strasbourg. I chose to visit Strasbourg because I was told by a lot of French people that it was very pretty but also had the best Marche de Noel in France. In fact, it was the first ever in France. I did want to see it because I did enjoy the Marche de Noel tradition and was curious to see how ... read more

Updated trips and entries will NOT have a note like this. thanks and enjoy! Even though I was enjoying my trip to Cote d'Azur, I did lament a bit that I was unable to leave France in order to visit more of continental Europe as planned. However, I did manage to visit the small Principalite du Monaco during my fifth day of travel. My throat was still a bit sore, however thanks to my medicine my coughing had stopped. I also had more energy than on Christmas day so I felt it would be safe for me to go visit Monaco. I had always wanted to visit Monaco/Monte ... read more

A trip or entry that takes place in the present day will NOT include a note like this. Thank you! I was unable to go home for Christmas, simply because plane ticket costs, but also I wanted to do some traveling, however another huge reason was because I was waiting to receive my carte au sejour (or residency card) from the French government, therefore I was afraid that I would have issues with re-entering the country. therefore, my trips outside of France were temporarily halted. I knew I wanted to go away for the holidays, but the question was, where do I go? I wanted to go somewhere ... read more

Any entry or trip that takes place in the present day does NOT include a note like this. Thank you! I had heard a lot about Lyon before coming to France, however I just wanted to go and see what it was like. I had heard that apparently the cuisine was quite famous and that there was a lot of history. I was able to take a TGV train from Dijon to Lyon, which took about 30 minutes to an hour. As soon as I arrived I used the information from the guide book I bought at Dijon's train station in order to use Lyon's metro system. Lyon has a ... read more

A trip or entry that takes place in the present day will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! The next day I woke up early, around 8 am so that I could enjoy some of the nice continental breakfast buffet that was set up at my hotel and also get an early start at sightseeing. They had everything-croissants, pain au chocolat, scrambled eggs, bacon, kippers, omelets, buttermilk biscuits, toast, kippers, sausage, ham eggs benedict you name it they had it for breakfast. After eating my very copious yet delicious breakfast, I went up to the concierge and asked for a map and recommendations in regards to ... read more

A trip or entry that takes place in the present day will NOT contain a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! I had always wanted to travel to Belgium, ever since I was a little girl. I had first heard about Belgium through my mom's fervent tuning in to A & E and Masterpiece Mystery episodes of the British television show based on the Hercule Poirot stories. Hearing about the character's love of chocolate and his Francophone background just made me curious. Just like I did for my trip to Poland, I purchased a guide book, Petite Fute (A French guide book brand) on Belgium. I ... read more

Entries and trips that take place in the present day will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! I wanted to go back to Paris since my first visit, mainly because I loved the city, but also because my first trip seemed rather quick. There was a lot I hadn't seen or had only gotten a glimpse of (for more information, please refer to my blog entitled "First Trip to Paris". My Parisian friend had recently moved to San Francisco for work, so I was on my own for my second trip. However, I didn't mind that because the only thing on my mind was to see as much ... read more

An entry that takes place in the present day will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! As you have noticed, dear readers, I did a lot of traveling around France and around Europe for that matter by November 2006. However, I was not in Europe strictly to backpack, I was genuinely in Dijon to study the French language, and then I was hoping to study at the University of Burgundy classes related to one of my majors during the Spring 2007 semester. However, as you will see, plans will change. Nonetheless, I will give you a brief overview as to what my ... read more
