Citizen of the World

Over the past 6-7 years I have traveled to 8 different countries and have lived in three different states. Currently I am doing lots of US travel in the Northeast, however I do have plans for international destinations planned. Some of the entries in this blog will be memories of my first travels to Europe as a foreign exchange student and other past travels, however I will update with entries regarding my latest travels. Thanks for reading and happy travels!

An updated trip or entry will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! The next day, Matt and I got up late, c. noon because of our bar crawl last night with my friend Bianca. Nonetheless, we got up, got dressed and headed out for more sight seeing. Our first stop was the United Nations building. I was interested in seeing this because a) one of my two majors in undergraduate was in political science b) I was a MUN competitor and participant during my undergraduate years c) I was studying my Masters in International Relations at the time and I did have a ... read more

An updated trip or blog will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! We ended getting up late the next day because we stayed up talking to Bineta and playing with her daughter, Jaada. However, we decide to head out in order to finish our visit to Central Park, find Rockafellar Center and then meet up with my friend Bianca, whom I had met five years ago while I was studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France (for more information on my relationship with Bianca, please refer to my blog entries entitled "A Typical Day In My Life in Aix" and "Spring Break Trip to NYC: Introduction.") ... read more

An updated trip or entry will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! We wake up at about 11 AM. After taking a shower, I put on my new blue jersey dress I had purchased at French Connection located on Newbury Street in Boston during a Black Friday 2010 sale and silver peep-toe pumps I had purchased a week ago from Aldo. Bineta so impressed with my new clothes, gives me a baby blue bracelet to borrow and accompany my ensemble. The reason why I dressed up was because Matt and I had reservations to dine at Public, a Michelin-star rated restaurant serving New Zealand ... read more

All updated trips and blogs will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! Matt met me in my apartment, located in Dorchester, MA, around 9 PM. After eating a humble dinner of Chinese spinach and I think chicken, we grab our luggage and take the T (the nickname of the subway system in Boston) to South Station around 11 PM. After checking in at the Peter Pan/Greyhound desk in the bus station section of South Station, we are directed to our platform. Our bus is not due to arrive until 12:50 AM, so we just sit, talk and share a snack of chicken mcnuggets from ... read more

An updated trip or entry will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! It had been five years since I had taken any sort of "vacation." Yes, I had gone back to Florida for Christmas vacation and Spring Break, and in July 2009 I moved to Dorchester, MA. During those first two months, I did visit many of Boston's sites, which I do plan to discuss in future entries because since I still live in the area. However, I have made Massachusetts my home for now, so even though living here has captivated my imagination like Dijon and Aix-en-Provence and satisfied my wunderlust spirit to ... read more

An updated trip or blog will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! My spring break trip to Spain would be my last trip while in Europe. I now had a month left to finish packing and send off any left over souvenirs I still had. I almost didn't get to send all of my souvenirs back because the national Post Office branches decided to go en greve or on strike (for more information please see my blog entitled "A Typical Day In My Life in Aix.") Auspiciously, however the Post Offices reopened all over France two weeks before I was scheduled to fly back home. ... read more

Note: All of these trends are in reference to my observations during my study abroad year in France during the 2006/2007 academic year. Therefore, restaurant names and information may have changed as well as eating trends in France. For more updated blog entries and trips please refer back to this blog at a later date. Thanks and enjoy! For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you have probably noticed that I write a lot about the food I eat. Those who know me well reading this will not be surprised because I love to cook and dine out as well. My study abroad year in France actually fueled my love for cooking from a mere necessity and interest to an art and obsessive hobby for me. The purpose of this ... read more

An updated trip or entry will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! The next day, and also my last in Barcelona, was filled with seeing the following sites: Park Guell, Sagrada Familia and the NATIONAL Museum of Catalonian Art. As reflected in my previous entry (entitled "The Gothic Quarter and Lots of Museums") that I had mixed feelings about Barcelona's sites. I did enjoy the Gothic Quarter, especially the Museum of the History of Barcelona, however I didn't find the Picasso Museum and the Meso American Museum and La Perdrera extensive enough for my liking, to the point where I was bored and ... read more

An updated trip or entry will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! The next day I wake up, eat breakfast and make my way to Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. I mostly wandered the streets, taking pictures, however I did visit the History of Barcelona Museum. This museum gives an overview of Barcelona's history, especially in the ancient world and the Middle Ages. One of the highlights for me while touring this museum was to see the actual Ancient Roman foundations of Barcelona, because I got to see where actual buildings used to be, as well as artifacts like wine jars located in their original location ... read more

All updated entries and trips will NOT include a note like this. Thanks and enjoy! I leave Valencia I think around 8 AM GMT and I arrive at the train station via taxi. Before getting on the train, I had to put my luggage through security. After my luggage was cleared, I now had to wait for my train, which arrived an hour later. The train ride was nice and very comfortable. It was a three hour trip from Valencia to Barcelona, made easier with the film that was being played. I forget the name of the film, but I know it was about the encounter three children ... read more
