| 19th January 2009 David | congrats! - From: On Dressing Bao Congratulations on Baby Bao. I occassionally read the travelblogs site when I get a chance. When I find a blog I enjoy, I'll go back to the beginning and read of all of their travels while in Viet Nam, which I did with your blog. My wife is from Viet Nam and we've visited 3 times since her coming to the US in 2001. I enjoy the blogs because I too, miss Vietnam and consider it my home away from Indiana, especially now with temps dipping below 0. I wasn't aware that the adoption doors to Viet Nam were open again? We've talked about adopting at one time, but heard the US couldn't adopted there. :( Anyhow, congrats once again and God Speed on your travels. Thank you for posting on travelblog. -david vnphotogallery (dot) com |
| 19th January 2009 Rich and Michele | Everybody has opinions - From: On Dressing Bao Cindy - you will find that everybody has opinions but the people who press their opinions on you most likely have never been in your exact situation. Those are the people you just smile at and hope they go away. People who you should listen to ask questions first then with some understanding share with you their life experience. - Uncle Rich |

| 17th January 2009 Donna Arnold | From Sherry's Mom - From: On Baby Bao's Name Hi Cindy and Allen-- Sherry e-mailed me about your blog, and it has been so much fun reading. When Sherry was born I kept saying my life went from black and white to technicolor. Becoming a parent is like crossing a bridge to another reality; you can never go back again, but you never want to. I always wondered how long it would take for that to happen with an adopted baby, but it's so clear that you both have already crossed that bridge. Bao is beautiful, and I can't wait to see him someday. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Donna Arnold |

Love, The Odoms |
| 16th January 2009 Sherry Jackson | Abba and good health - From: The Boy From Vinh Long John will be so happy to hear that little Bao's first exposure to Western music was Abba! Naturally I am mortified, but I'm sure that years of love and good parenting from you and Allen will at least partially mitigate this cultural disaster. We are very happy to hear that the doctor says he is healthy and well! His weight sounds excellent! Looking forward to meeting him. Enjoy this time and take lots of pictures. |
| 15th January 2009 Jamie | CONGRATULATION! - From: We Got Him! I am so happy for you. He sounds so adorable and I'm glad he is taking his bottle. Enjoy your time in Vietnam with your baby. Kiss and hugs on baby Bao. Jamie |
| 14th January 2009 nancy f | - From: We Got Him! Oh you guys made me tear up again. Congratulations on your new little son. YOU ARE NOW officially parents! It will be more than you ever dreamed. More work, more joy, more peace, more confusion, more passion, more exhaustion.....all part of that completion you feel. The first nites are hard. Very hard. It gets easier. Be thankful he is crying - that means he is grieving, which means he was attached and felt safe in his former environment. You want that! Because it means he knows what that is and will soon recognize it with you both. He can love, and he will soon learn to love you. Nancy |

| 11th January 2009 Sally | your blog - From: I picked fantasy, I picked fantasy Your blog sounds like an exert from Bridget Jones, simple, personal and funny...keep it up...though have to say as an "all-knowing" parent, you will find that you will have to kiss life goodbye very soon and will be able to log on approx once a month, and that will only be to check your online bank account!
