| 4th November 2009 venkat areti | nice to see damazine where I live now - From: Dusty in Ed Damazin Thanks to Galib and Cin. The place where I live is in the second next lane to the Ministry of Education, near University. We, 5 Indians stay in a house almost similar to the one which is shown in the pictures of Galib. We are having a big compound. Three bed rooms, big enough hall, very big kitchen and toilets....nice. We the Indians are liked by the locals since they watch almost the Indian films with arabic sub titles and of course thats a previlege for us. Rice, brinjal, potato, tomato, carrots, capsicum, gourd, onion, chilli and some leafy vegetables and self cooking. Drinking water from Pakistan Base camp..nice. I, being an Indian never dreamt about living pals with nice Pakistani Army and Police...really enjoying... I personally feal that it is a game of politics between the two brotherly countries..even my pakistani friends aslo feel the same. about 22 nationals are working together in damazine and we dont feel ...away home. Thanks...Galib and Cin. |

| 17th February 2009 Moiz Asif Bilwani | KARACHI - From: Desperation in the Streets of Karachi Its a good blog, however, I must say that you have not really shown a pretty picture of Karachi. You should have included pics from the sea view and other great places like Forum, Park Towers and historic buildings in the Saddar area. |

Fournier to learn how wine is made and experience the 6 course culinary experience from "Simply Cinnamon". From reading this blog, I want to visit this vineyard so I can experience culinary tourism in the wine aspect. |

| 27th May 2008 Shakeeb | - From: Risky Business is Rawalpindi hey nice photos but that thing about pindi - it is not really a slum. i don't know where your taxi driver took you but it is a pretty great city and one of the oldest and biggest . it houses the GHQ of the Army and all the cores are represented here. It is a really big city. The cantonment area is really beautiful and there are quite a lot of places worth seeing other than meat markets........... |

| 12th August 2007 Mieke Kooistra | sand duning - From: Desert Safari on the Dunes of Dubai After reading your account on sand duning and the desert trip I would like to warn all readers not to take a tour with Orient Tours in Dubai as I just did, togetjer with my husband and 12 year old daughter. They say they take you to the desert instead they park you off the runway of Dubai airport. You can do a lot of plane spotting at night. But if you rather watch stars, be warned. |
| 8th August 2007 Scott McBride | Wow, what a fun trip! - From: Cinnamon takes Manhattan Hi Cinnamon, I enjoyed your tale of the New York Trip. Sounds like a fun place to go. I have never been. I would have especially liked the Comic Book Convention. I'm a sucker for that super hero stuff. I was a Spiderman, Batman reader among others. See you soon, Love, Cousin Scott |
| 13th July 2007 am | volunteering - From: Camp Chitta Batta, United Pakistan Relief Work I stumbled on your blog after a google search. I myself am interested in volunteering in Pakistan for the ongoing relief efforts. How was your experience? Do you have advice? Please reply at whisperedpeace@gmail.com. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work! |
| 19th June 2007 Jambon | No kidding... - From: "War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left." I have found the same in Torit. No violent outbreaks to speak of, but in the region there is constant violence with cattle stealing, and raiding to steal women for marrying off in exchange for cattle. Cattle equal wealth in the South. And the cycle of revenge for past incidents continues over, and over and over... |
| 19th June 2007 Jambon | hello from Torit! - From: All in day's work, Damazin Cin and Galib, you guys put together a great blog. An un-identified man commented on Galibs' story that I realted about the man with no legs in the street. I encourage Galib to reply under what I have said, to simply clarify what was said. I never thought a stranger would be commenting on my blog.... Keep up the great work! Don from Torit |
| 18th June 2007 Kim (from Calgary) | So Brave - From: "War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left." Hi Cinn & Galib - Cinn great job on the blog it is so facinating and so hard to even wrap my brain around. There is a whole other world out there that we as Canadians are sheltered from. When reading these blogs you trully get a new perspective on our lives here. Galib I haven 't met you yet but I really look forward to meeting you someday. I think you are a very amazing person. To have taken on such a task and share yourself with the people of Sudan is truly remarkable. Be Smart Be Safe. |
| 17th June 2007 anonymous | - From: "War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left." Very enlightening!!! There is always a silver liningin the cloud no matter how rough the situation. Glad you're settled in and seems you have more of a purpose than when you first arrived. Warmest Regards, Gary |

| 11th June 2007 Scott McBride | Fascinating - From: TIA: This is Africa Hi Cin and Galib, That's pretty cool. The picture of the general in his sunglasses reminds me of the movie Blood Diamond. I had no idea about the structure or the power struggle that was going on between them. As Spock would say " Fascinating" Thanks for the info cousin. Scott |

| 16th October 2006 shamina | - From: Village of White Stone: Camp Chitta Batta, United Pakistan Relief Work I am so happy to see somebody from outdside of pakistan enjoying themselves, in this not so touristy country. I went to pakistan from the uk this year (06) and saw all the devastation I was very shocked, I have family out there and was very worried for them but when I saw our area in Kashmir it was not so bad. I took my children with me and all they wanted to do was help. I am very lucky that they adapted I had already explained to them that there had been an earthquake and it was not the same as they remembered it when they visited it when they were younger, but they seemed to adapt, going back to your photos they were very beautiful. I llike to take photos myself but find it very hard with my young familey with me all the time plus I have to do all the relative vsiting which love but is time consuming as they are far and wide spread. |

| 2nd July 2006 Kathy | Quite a Twosome! - From: Village of White Stone: Camp Chitta Batta, United Pakistan Relief Work Just read your short article in today's Province and was very touched that you two spent time helping the refugees. What an experience of a lifetime and at such a young age for you to experience it. Way to go, and as a parent of kids your age, I know you must have been raised in a loving and giving family! Keep up the good work! |
| 7th May 2006 John Arudo | Re: Great Pictures - From: We're not in Kansas anymore Toto, this is Karachi! Wonderful pictures. I am in Karachi right now but nobody has told me exactly reason why the bus and lorry owners go into such pains of decorating their vehicles. Secondly, being a black, I feel like a black blob buoyed in a sea of brown waters. A feeling of a stranger where you hardly meet with other blacks. But the fear has been sorted out. The few blacks who are there cannot withstand the heat so tend to keep indoors and only emerge in the late evenings when I also rush for a cool bath in the room. Did well with the photos! |
| 18th April 2006 Sajjad | Nice pics - From: Risky Business is Rawalpindi Nice pics and writing. You should have visited places like Pir Sohawa up in the mountains (a bit further from "Daman-e-Koh") and Rawal Dam. Truly beautiful. Pindi really is disgusting and even us Islamabad residents try to avoid it whenever possible. Sajjad http://www.sajjadzaidi.com |
