Catching up . . . . - From: Laos
Hi Terry and Christine, Just catching up, having just returned to work following maternity leave - I was disorganised enough not to bookmark the website at home. I had another little girl by the way, who we have called Nerea, and managed to get my home birth this time which was fab. Now getting my vicarious travel kicks from your wonderful blog - it'll be a long time before I get to go back to Vietnam and Cambodia: all the Algarve and Spain for the foreseeable future :( Really enjoying all your anecdotes and photos. Keep up the good work! Love Suzanne x

Hello - From: Laos
Just love the scenery and buildings. The children look so sweet but seem to have a hard life - most of ours here are by comparison spoiled. Bank Holiday today and it has been glorious but you probably dont care as you are seeing such wonderful sights. Keep the log and pictures coming.

Great to hear about the last leg of the trip, and that you are both fit and well (apart from the hip). NHS land is bogged down in coping with a 'flu pandemic ('Catch it, kill it, bin it' being the order of the day) so you are definately well out of things, although you may come across it in other places on your travels. Daniel is off to Nepal in a couple of weeks time to recover from his A levels (and await the results) so he will be doing his own little bit of travelling - not on your scale though. Keep safe and all the best. Hilary

Good to get this blog - From: Thailand
Good to see you are both still having a great time and look so well. Billericay will be rather tame when you eventually get back. The places you have writtenabout this time are reminding me of when James was travelling (the first time), with most names being quite familiar. He loved Thailand and has since been back on holiday. I bet Terry has not been chased down the road by the lday boys holding up their skirts to prove the are 'real girls'though! Hope you dont find the 'resting up on the beach' too traumatic and take care. Till next time Irene

Hi Chris and Terry I'm so glad you've posted a new entry on your blog. It brings a little ray of sunshine into the long dull days over here ! I keep wondering where you're off to next ? As you can see i am still as sick as a pig with jealousy. However I have laughed my way through this entry what with pink fish errant taxi drivers and iranian theatre. We have all been laughing at Terrys baggy trousers and remembering the madness display at the CP&R party. Life is good at the PCT a bit manic at times but then so am I. Am I right in thinking someone has a birthday coming up soon? If I am happy birthday Christine, if I'm wrong then save my wishes until it is your birthday. Have a great Christmas, we will as there is the best snow in the Alpes for years and we only have 16 days to wait Yipee !!!! Dawn & Age

Hi, I so look forward to receiving these blogs, I have just explained to Michelle Angell, that it's like being on the trip but without the heat and smells. You manage to make it all so interesting and the pictures are great; however, not sure about the touristy princess Di one at the Taj, Christine looks thoughtful and Terry you look like a real tourist. Dear Christine and Terry, Read your blog. India has gotten into your blood now as it has a way of doing. I am sure you will come back for more. We also saw our photo with you. Dear Christine and Terry, Read the blog. Now I know what I missed by not visiting Ladakh. Some day I will have to just take a flight to Leh. What a contrast - From: India
Just got back from the land of plenty (USA) where most people are comfortable ?? happy. It was lovely to see the smiling children who did seem so pleased to see you and be photographed. We had a ball in Texas and managed to escape Hurrican Ike. We had beautiful accommodation (our neighbours house again) but your house boat took some beating. Your comment page reads like the league of nations with comments (really nice ones to boot) from what seems like everywhere. No1 son has gone back to Brazil until November and studying Portuguese for a few weeks. Staying with host mother near Ipanema so 'enjoying the views'!! Take Care. xx

We're planning a road trip to Ladakh next year and we're so excited. We're going to be driving up from Himachal Pradesh though, rather than the Kashmir Valley, just to be on the safe side and avoid any troubles there. Please do post more about your experiences in Ladakh when you get some time. Thanks. As for the airport, I think there has been an airport in Leh since the early 60s, but it was probably opened for civilian use only in the late 70s or early 80s.

Hi Christine and Terry, We are now in our final weeks of our trip before we head home. We love reading your adventures and look forward to your views on India. We spent 4 months there and loved it. Hey - just seen Micheal Palin on BBC2 in Cappadocia - he had his fortune told and he was going to meet a rich lady - was that you Chris? First dive of the season on Sunday, 11C and no vis but staying with a John Dory for the first 5 mins and managed a few scallies for the BarBee. Boat is like new and rides quite high in the water so not too much splashing but the elegance of getting on board is dubious! It's 5 1/2 years today until I retire - yipee, plan is only 30K short though so have to work harder to make it up. I do envy you Tehran, my Dad was there just before the trouble in the early 70s, or was it late 60s? He thought it was amazing. Don't panic Chris - someone will open a Starbucks soon. Hugs xx

Dear Christine and Terry, It was nice meeting you on the Gallipoli Tour, and yes, the rest of our tour was fine, even though I was highly upset by the non-appearance of our tour representative that night in Selcuk. How exciting! - From: The Turkey Leg
Great to catch up with your blog. We know all about Turkey legs here in Norfolk! Hope you're keeping up with the history of medicine!? Aretaeus of Cappodecia (circa120AD) was one of the first to give an acute clinical description of diabetes - "a melting of flesh and limbs into urine" - a description that holds today! What about Heraclitis of Ephesus (circa 540 - 480 BC) who had general oedema and impaired vision. Treated himself with cow dung and baked himself in the sun! He's dead of course! And then the top shelf/under the counter stuff Priapis of Ephesus. Enough said! Happy travels! Best regards.
