Switchbacks!
You two will be very let down when you get home and have to eat and live normally again! The food looks wonderful, as do you both. I will say though, that those switchbacks would not be for me... especially from the front of an upper deck!!!! Do keep on enjoying! xo

City life and beaches in Christmas! AND David Guetta on New Year's??? Can't it get any better than that?! Oh and you guys look so tanned!!! :P

Another whew and wow experience
First of all, thank God that the medical issue was addressed promptly before it got any worse. That doctor was sent from the heavens! And as for the place, WOW WOW WOOOOW. There's just something about the antiquity of the city and most importantly of Machu Picchu that makes it feel so majestic! After so many years, there it is, still standing! Thanks for the UNESCO advisory, that means I gotta go visit that place soon! Definitely putting it on my to-go-to list! :D

Amazon Segment
Hi there, you guys are sure having a trip of a lifetime, and you have my admiration for being a lot bolder than I would ever wish to be! No desire to be amongst tarantulas, or sleeping with cockroaches, thank you! But that little parrot and the macaws are lovely, the falls, too. You sound like you are really doing it right, and I hope you just keep on having all those great experiences... and no more runs, so to speak! Mum xo

Re: How is it going?????
All is great! Nice to hear about the snow, you might be surprised to hear this but we actually did misstrue snow especially over the holiday season. And now since its been a minimum of 30 Celsius every we go now we are sweltering, but not complaining. (Our Canadian skin just can't handle the heat!). Today we arrived in Buenos Aires and so the Argentine adventure begins! Thanks for the comment we hope to have part 2 of Brazil complete in the next couple days!

The Journey
Was thinking about your journey... remember how life is a journey not a station, though it's okay to make the station part of your journey (journey does not need to mean a literal trip).... and was thinking about Peru and how you didn't get to do the Inca Trail... but you did get to go to Machu Picchu.... the journey isn't about what you didn't do; it's about what you did do. I'm sorry you missed 'doing' the Inca trail, but I bet if you were to sit down and think about it, you'd easily think of half a dozen things you did do that you would not otherwise have done, had it worked out as planned. You guys are on an amazing journey. Enjoy every minute of it whatever those minutes comprise. And, Merry Christmas! We'll miss you a lot, but we are lucky, because we have you with us in our hearts. Much love from Dad and Me.... xo

Wow
Let me repeat, Wow! I'd say you are both really enjoying your journey. Can't let this one pass without saying thank you for the Mother's Day nod... those Central Americans sure have it right!!!! Love the pic of the two of you jumping on the beach. Nice effect! Can't wait to hear more... esp. after your Incan adventure. Keep well. Mum xo.

Awesome experience of a life-time!
Buenos dias, a nuestra sobrina dulce Liz y su marido Chris! Hola... lo que pasa? Just wanted to tell you how proud we all are of you both and your "super" exciting and cool adventures. Wow... what a wonderful, rewarding and unforgettable experience you have had so far and so much more to come! We missed seeing you at your Dad's 65th birthday and at your mom's Christmas Concert this past Sunday, but know you are having an amazing time in South America. We look forward to reading your blogs and following your fascinating journey and itinerary. Wasn't the coffee plantation interesting? We visited one in Kona, while in Hawaii, and the children were extremely fascinated by the process. We even brought back some delicious coffee that we also helped roast/package ourselves (was it ever yummy). The flavour was unbelievable and that aroma - heavenly!! Chris, we love your haircut (muy guapo) and Liz you always look so relaxed and happy (hermosa y feliz). Keep up the exciting pace of life and please stay safe and healthy! With all our love, Auntie Rose, Uncle Ken, Katelyn and Alex (P.S. -- We had our first snow fall last night in Oakville - see what you are missing here!)

Living vicariously is good enough for me!!
Are you actually working on a coffee plantation or are you totally free now? Wish I could have seen that sloth! What a great tour at night (but not sure I'd have wanted to do it)... especially I wouldn't be zip lining or free falling, however, I am quite sure you guys will always remember it and be glad you did it. Mostly I wish I could have smelled that coffee being roasted. So cool that you have your own now. The countryside in Monteverde looks lush and gorgeous; the narrow twisty roads remind me exactly of roads in Devon, Norwich, and "the North"(of England)as they call it. Love hearing all about everything, so keep it all coming... just be careful - I'm saying this to zip-liners and freefallers?!!! Love you, miss you, Mum xo

Hi Liz and Chris, Wow! You guys seem to be having a wonderful time and what a great learning experience... all at the same time! You will always remember this trip and having this diary is awesome too. Keep up the writing (although I'm sure it's hard at times!), we all love to read it. take good care of yourselves... looking forward to your next blog... Denyse
