Our trip version 2 started with the ferry into Cherbourg and then straight to Cancale in Brittany. From here we headed around the Brittany coast visiting the delightful towns of St Malo, Dinan, Paimpol, Pontrieux (by steam train), Morlaix, Quimper and Josselin. We sampled local food like oysters in Baden and cider in Argol, Camembert and goat's cheese. We walked the coastal paths that stretch all the way around the Brittany coast, visited odd medieval churches in sleepy villages, and cycled past megaliths in Carnac. The white sandy beaches are really beautiful. The Atlantic Coast was next with Nantes (very cycle friendly and arty) and the nearby wine region of Muscadet.
