Life is full of experiences...and diving well...has a lot to offer! Diving in Sipadan was truly magical, colorful and full of life...but has as well something else to offer for the one who are looking for a 'slightly' different experience! Cave diving! Welcome to a pitch black underworld where ones life holds to a tiny lifeline...Ready for some high adrenaline sensations??.... Guess it took me half a second to make my mind...the very moment I saw on the diving board that cave diving was available I was technically harassing our dive master to meet the tech dive instructor and immedia [View Full Entry]

Early morning we got ready to do a day trip to Tiraspol, capital of the self proclaimed republic of Transnistria, perhaps only Russia recognizes it, anyway you cant stay for longer than 6-8 hours in the area if you try to spend the night, will be lots of hassle, there is a border we need to cross and we heard bad things about the way customs deal with foreigners says our homestay host but we really wanted to get there so we wing it. took the minibus to the Central bus station, where we were supposed to meet Tuuka and Yarom [View Full Entry]

Things are looking up - the surf looks good, even if the beach is a bit too rocky and has a bit too much black sand for my liking.
El Salvador has a dirty reputation. It’s famous for its creepy pre-pubescent moustaches, massive guns and the fact that it boasts more prostitutes than tourism. It also gets a bad rap for being dangerous - I can count the number of us gringos I saw whilst in El Salvador on two hands. The local men are mean looking characters - short, ruddy and broad - wearing cowboy hats and requisite moustaches, yet their faces and entire demeanor transforms when they break into a smile. I also discover that they often speak English, even if they claim not to - teenagers on [View Full Entry]

The colours of Guatemala It's the colours that I remember best from Guatemala. The perfect blue of Lake Atitlan, once called the most beautiful lake in the world; the red rivers of lava on Volcan Pacaya, which flowed no more than 100 metres from us on the volcano's slopes; the reflections on the white stones of Tikal in the early morning light. And that's only the natural colours...even more striking are the small pueblos. Each village attempts to outdo the next in terms of the designs and colours of their local dress, especially during their festivals (and there's no shorta [View Full Entry]

“I want to see mountains again, Gandalf, mountains , and then find somewhere where I can rest in peace and quiet… somewhere where I can finish my book” - Bilbo - The Fellowship of the Ring We spent the last 10 days in the Kachkar Mountains and Eastern Turkey. We will let the photos tell the travel story and Hagit will describe how it is to travel with a toddler Traveling with Liya A year ago, I talked to a friend who traveled with their 7 month old to London. Sunset at Ulua Beach, Maui
The clouds rolled in this morning whilst we slept, and encamped themselves between the mountains. They now cling stubbornly to the rooftops, heavy with monsoonal rain, refusing to budge until they’ve unburdened themselves of their load. There seem far fewer people out on the street this morning even though the same amount of people need to run the same amount of errands and the same amount children need to go to school. Our plans are clearly a washout, warranting one of those lazy days, reading books, picking from the menu and generally enjoying the leisurely side of travel. We&rsq [View Full Entry]

Never walk into a supermarket wearing a Lycra cycling suit. Or, at least, never walk into a supermarket wearing a Lycra cycling suit with no pants underneath. Or, at least, never walk into a supermarket wearing a Lycra cycling suit with no pants underneath and stare for too long at a young German mother's decolleté while she's bent over telling her daughter off. I mean, Lycra is a fine material for cycling in maximum comfort and aerodynamics, but is definetely not the best one when it comes to hide an e... well, an emotion. And so I found myself in a [View Full Entry]

So here’s the deal, we’ve made a list of things we wanted to tell you in this entry about San Francisco, our last American city on this trip. It ended up being sixteen “points of interest,” (normally there are around eight) so not only has San Francisco been another fabulous time in our travelling lives, but we have so much to share with you. Now, do we let this become one of those mammoth entries that takes you a while to read or keep it short and sweet!? (We do understand some of you have lots of “internet research time [View Full Entry]
