But I have been more busy than I could have imagined It has been a good busy today. We all slept in today and then went to grab breakfast. After a very quick breakfast we headed over to the next talk in our conference. It was specifically about Godrsquos sovereignty in election. This has a http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/blog-288246.html Leaving Seattle Today we embark to Alaska. We spent some time getting to know our ship and found ourselves making various appointments for a bunch of things for the first two days as we will be at sea for both days. We will hit Alaska on Wednesday. We enjoyed a lovely wo http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Washington/Seattle/blog-288245.html Happily Sleepless in Seattle My first travel experience of Seattle is on www.somissurfergirl.blogspot.com but from now on the whole Alaska trip will be on here. Check the Somis blog for today's description tune in here for the rest... Sorry to confuse you http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Washington/Seattle/blog-287440.html Another Update Well it looks like all of our blogs before this morning's post were lost in a server crash or something like that. Bummer. Its OK though because we know that everyone reads them all the day we post them so none of you missed any.We are in Grindewald now and have settled into our hotel for a two night stay. We are looking forward to exploring in and around Grindewald. The weather is beautiful http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Grindelwald/blog-188302.html Home again So we are home again we got to say good bye to Abaco yesterday and had a mildly stressfree trip back. It was lovely to see the lights of Los Angeles as we landed. I love and will always love California. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/blog-273262.html Day with a whole lot of wonderful nothings Today was so much fun. All of us went to Winding Harbor and enjoyed ourselves with the blue floaties played beach tennis and Susie Cheston and I all tried out paddle boarding. Pictures to illustrate. http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Bahamas/Abaco/blog-272555.html Bahama Mama Recap on our trip out hereWas supposed to leave LA at 11 pm but because of 11 drunken men on the plane and a crowd of security a yelling stewardess and pulling the airplane all the way back to the gate from the runway we ended up leaving more near midnight. It was definitely the most excitement I have seen on a plane. Got to Miami and slept on the chairs waiting during our 5 hour layover. http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Bahamas/Abaco/blog-272340.html A Corona commercial No seriously these are real life pictures. I thought I was looking at a Corona commercial with the deserted white sand beach the soft lulling song of the waves strumming against the shore and the cool breeze hitting my skin. But alas I was reminded that I was in real life when I dipped my feet in the water. Chilly but delightful. Spent the day enjoying the company of Susie George and m http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Bahamas/Abaco/blog-272027.html Old couple Ok so this isn't a far away place but this counts as a travel. Ahhhhhprecious Disneyland. Cheston and I visited this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even though we only hit one ride. We decided we had an old people day and that we got to enjoy Disneyland like older people do. We strolled around slowly avoiding speeding strollers and people running to the rides. It was a day of http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Los-Angeles/Anaheim/blog-268511.html Viva... This weekend we were able to travel out to Las Vegas or as my Dad and fatherinlaw would say Lost Wages and celebrate my brother and sisterinlaw's 30th birthdays. We had quite the wonderful time with the family saw and did many things and truly enjoyed eachother's company. We arrived Friday and enjoyed dinner at Smith and Wollensky with all of the immediate family members. The coolest http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Nevada/Las-Vegas/blog-263816.html Easter Travels This weekend we took a nice trip up to my inlaws' to visit for Easter. We were able to see the whole family which was absolutely delightful. One of the highlights of our trip was our nephew George's 2nd birthday party. There was an Easter egg hunt at his party where all the approximately 2 year olds walked around finding plastic eggs filled with toys and stickers and filled their little bag http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Santa-Clara/blog-259087.html Trip to Catalina So this last weekend we helped to chaperone a biology high school trip to Catalina. While exhausting it was a lovely trip and we got some great footage along the way. Enjoy. P.S. Take a look at the video about halfway through is the great footage. It was surreal. A glimpse into God's glory in creation. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Los-Angeles/Bel-Air/blog-254184.html Home So we arrived Sunday afternoon after an 11 hour flight in which the Harry Potter series kept us busy. Chet's on Book 5 I am on Book 2. It was great to have a 5 inch thick book for Chet because at least it slowed him down a little he went through 2 of them. Steve met us at the airport with two happy pups and Susie surprised us by flying in too It was so nice seeing both their faces as we http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Ventura-/blog-195091.html Dress shoes wine and the Eiffel Tower So last night was a great celebration in honor of our 5 year anniversary. We were able to spend a wonderful day visiting the Louvre and Musee Rodin. I can't believe we got to see Mona Lisa The Thinker and The Kiss all on our special day I definitely won't forget itWe left in the evening to celebrate our anniversary in Paris and got to eat dinner at that lovely cafe that we had spent the d http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/Rhineland-Palatinate/Koblenz/blog-193747.html "Aspen I don't know Lloyd the French are..." Hello from Paris. I haven't written in a while so this will be a sort of jumbling of lessons learned and experiences that I thought everyone would enjoy.I have learned that the French often serve pizza with a fried egg on top. While in Lyon Kat and I were sitting in a cafe and we couldn't read anything on the menu so I order Pizza Lyonnaise naturally. It arrived with a fried egg on top. This http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-193295.html The best hot chocolate Today we began with a small crepe breakfast and coffee outside of the Musee D' Orsay. Let me tell you Europeans make coffee that packs a powerful punch One creme and three cubes of sugar later it still tasted like an entire pot of brewed coffee in a mini tea cup We went through Musee D' Orsay in a couple of hours and Cheston got to see Rodin sculptures which were his favorites and I got http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-193054.html 'Tis a beautiful sight... We made it to Paris today and all I wanted to see was my precious Eiffel Tower. I have wanted to see that tower well and of course the rest of Paris since I was a little girl. My dreams were fulfilled this evening when we took a stroll to see it. Of course we will be going to climb it tomorrow morning to see the day view and then again on the night of our anniversary to see the night view. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-192818.html Sweet fellowship Just returned from a really great and encouraging visit with Juliana. We ended up staying the night at her house and driving back to Koblenz to pack up for Paris today. The time with her was very restful and very encouraging and we got to enjoy American food on a military base and she even treated us to watching the Bourne Ultimatum. You can imagine Chet's excitement since he's an avid reader http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/Rhineland-Palatinate/Koblenz/blog-191978.html We're back... Just a very short post to tell you that we are back in Koblenz until August 14th.Sunday we are making a nice little day trip down to Heidelberg to see Juliana my close friend and roommate of 3 years from college. She lives in Germany working with a youth group on a military base in Ramstein. Then we will be heading for Paris to celebrate our anniversary and to say Au revoir to Europe. We http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/Rhineland-Palatinate/Koblenz/blog-190956.html Bonjour So now that we have been in France for two days we can definitely say that we enjoy it We are more than LOUSY at the language but everyone we have run into has been very nice and definitely doesn't fit into that stereotype that we have heard of. I think as long as you try at their language and laugh at yourself when you butcher it big time they pity you. We briefly stopped through Geneve http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Burgundy/Beaune/blog-190570.html
