| 13th July 2008 Nick H | Royal Oak - From: 42. The early Paula catches the bus on TV (when will she, will she be famous?) (with apologies to Bros) Regal? Sounds more like a pub to me! |
| 13th May 2008 lexy lou | home time! - From: 38. Hello, we must be going loved reading about your catch up time at home - although it did sound like you ate and drank more in those 6-7 weeks than you did the whole previous 12 months!! x |
| 1st May 2008 Catherine | GOOD photos - From: 27. Ho Chi Minh and the All-seeing Eye I really enjoyed your pictures. I thought your web site had very good photos. |
| 23rd March 2008 phil heaton | Saw your Site - From: 29. The Churning of the Ocean of Milk Sawatdee Nick and Paula, good to read your site (via Huw), very well composed and informative, with some great pics. A mate of mine (tourism/landscape consultant) wrote the conservation strategy for Angkor some years ago, so it was interesting to read your experience of the place. You seem to be having a pretty busy time, wonder what you thought of Thailand at New Year? I think it has gone to the dogs, too much decadence (and not just excesses by the tourists, the Thai forestry department sold all the islands for big cash). Stay safe, keep enjoying the trip, keep taking the pics, think of all us rat racers behind our desks with the arctic winds blowing outside! Best wishes Phil |
| 26th February 2008 Hilary and Dave Blanchard | SPIDERS (LARGE) UGHHHHH! - From: 33. The monks want to know, if you already have everything you need, what are you looking for? OH! MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME! I would have leapt straight through the so called glass or any other type of ceiling for that matter!!! Looking forward to seeing you soon - Take very good care of each other , Love Hilary and Dave XX |
| 14th November 2007 Richie | - From: 22. Great Wall! From Terracotta Warriors to Concrete Monsters... "a Great Wall and only a great people with a great past could have a great wall and such a great people with such a great wall will surely have a great future." - wow, Nixon really did have a way with words. Also, interesting to see that the British government have today announced some measures they're clearly copying from the Chinese... security checks at major rail stations. |
| 14th November 2007 Richie | Flying train - From: 21. Beijing: Peking Duck and other animals Here was I, desperate to see a picture of a train carriage hoisted 6 feet in the air, as you promised... yet Alas! no picture could be found. |
| 10th October 2007 Richie | T-shirt - From: 13. Paula takes a holiday from her holiday; the Nicks head north Was probably green... it's amazing what you can do with Photoshop these days. But seriously, I'll go along with cerise. |
| 10th October 2007 Richie | Food / drink / trains - From: 19. Tsars in our eyes... I must say I'm shocked that the UK bought food was the cheapest! The champagne was clearly a good buy at 3GBP per bottle - was the vodka similarly inexpensive? The images of the train remind me a little of the rail journey we went on in the Czech Republic, but you have a much longer (and hopefully faster) journey! Now, what's this about three oceans... I count only two?! Looking forward to reading about Irkutsk and beyond, Richie. |

| 25th May 2007 Charmita and Olarse | Glass accione - From: 4. Reporting from Cusco Hi Richie. It is a category 2, on account of it being a large ceramic effort. However, it has added about a kilo to my backpack on its own, and I am frequently asking myself if it was worth picking it up only 3 days into a 90-day trip! I almost picked up a Bolivian one tonight, but the bar could not part with it due to short supply. Watch this space for further updates, and maybe a photo... |
| 21st May 2007 Richie | Category of tankard - From: 4. Reporting from Cusco Nick, Just wondering what category of tankard it is? I'm guessing it must be at least a 4 to warrant carting it around South America for a couple of months. Any chance of a pic? Good nachos! Richie. |
| 29th April 2007 Richie | Uruguay, home of pies - From: Easter sunshine Nick, I sincerely hope you aren't going to go to Uruguay and miss out Fray Bentos again. If only we'd have hired that car and gone there, my life would have been so enriched. |
