So I finally got some steady work. Yay! I mean, crap, now i actually have to work (was so getting in the swing of being unemployed), but at least i´ll get some cash... I scored 6 weeks work on Cinderella II, a 32 metre sailing yacht. So we hired a car and drove around the island in search of nice beaches and little Spanish villages... hmmmm. For a horrible moment I thought I´d forgotten Anzac Day because I´m basically on holidays, I have no idea what day it is... imagine being out of the country for a month and committing a mortally un-Australian sin like forgetting Anzac Day (a day so important to Australia that it should be a public holiday... sorry for the sledge Rols). So Paul left today... i know i´ll see him pretty soon (at the end of July for the big 3-0 if not before), but was still sorry to see him go. Very easy travelling partner... Yeah, quiet night out with Jill... We met up at the corner bar, which seems to be where most of the boat crew hang out. We decided to head over to Palma to see a mate who works on the boats... nice to see some island sun and then i´d stick around to see if i could grab some work myself. You gotta love it - we actually left sunny England for gloomy Spain - not real happy jan but at the same time, you can´t be too bummed about much in Barcelona. Typical Mortimer planning - we rocked up in Barcelona with no hotel booked, it was 11:30 at night so no tourist information places open... we managed to find a cabby who spoke a little English, and he booked us into a place in town on the way there.
