Hey sweetpea, glad you're getting around Eastern Europe and, if not enjoying every minute, at least having an adventure. You'll love Istanbul...try the fish sandwiches sold from the boats on the Bosphorous!

Have you ever seen Yes Minister? I'm Sir Humphrey... "We dare not allow politicians to establish the principle that senior civil servants can be removed for incompetence. We could loose dozens of our chaps. Hundreds maybe. Even thousands."

Working! - From: Steep paths and stairs...
Hey I know what you mean about wanting to work and live in a proper house - I'm getting paid not-so-good at my current job in London but it's still something for my bank account! And finally, after 3 weeks of living with 11-14 (sometimes more) people, the house is down to a normal 5 for the next two months! Let me know if you're around London anytime, or in Europe sept/oct when I'll be travelling.

Street name - From: Vegging in Glasgow
It's called Nelson Mandela Place because there was a strong campaign in Glasgow in the 80s to have him freed, with regular marches to the South African Consulate which was in that square. The council changed the name as part of that, and later Mandela came to Glasgow to host a conference/party/rally in the Concert Hall, as a thanks to the people of the city.
