Quick Update for you all! Just a quick entry today to let you know what we've done over the last two days, and whats next on the agenda. On our last day Paihia we drove our rental nightmare car to a couple of nearby water falls called Haruru and Rainbow falls. Haruru falls was a little mediocre I thought, Il let you judge from the photos! Rainbow falls was nice though. It was 27 metres high and in stunning scenery. The bay of Islands Well we hired a car and on first inspection it looked good. Its a Daihatsu Sirion 2005 model and looked pretty good, then we drove it and my god is the clutch and the gear box sticky!!! You just cant find the bite as when you get mid way up with your foot its just stays there!! Anyway we got to this place Paihia and it is lovely. It's right on the seafront and very quiet. Our First Full Day In Auckland Well we finally made it to New Zealand! What an experience! The travelling was soooo tiring. We got to Auckland by about 13:30 and made it to our hostel by 15:30 once we'd cleared customs! We tried to stay up so that we could sleep all night but ended up falling asleep by 19:00! I then had a very disjointed nights sleep and got up at 06:00 but felt much better for it. We were all showered and breakfasted by 08:15 and then headed out into town. The Cottingham Massive Just returned from a small journey of only a couple of hours up the M1 to a place called Cottingham to see some old friends. I must say I have known these guys for years and they always came on holiday to my house in Devon when we were kids and this is the first time I went to their house ever and Im 25!! Amsterdam 2008! I just returned from Amsterdam. It was only a short trip of a few days but, boy was it great fun! I went with 3 of my good friends just as a little 'fun break' for us all really. I saw it as a little precursor to my big trip to New Zealand and Australia, which is only one month away, yippee!! Something I noticed whilst in the lovely architechtural city was that at many, not all, shops, bars and eaterys the staff seemed as though they didnt really have time for you.
