Erica, our wonderful American friend greeted us with glee and anticipation when we arrived from Pescara, to Ancona , to traverse the ocean on a ferry across to Split, in Croatia. Having exchanged travel and catch-up stories we boarded the Blue Star liner with hundreds of other eagerly anticipating travellers. Having heard rumours that this ferry had a nightclub and was hence, a party boat , we dropped out bags in a tiny bedroom well below deck and hit the ground running. However, we were met with old ladies getting down to a morbid dance at the 'nightclub'. Hence , we retreated for an early nights sleep. Having just arrived in Split, we eagerly await our week long sailing adventure around the Croatian Islands. We will be on (another) boat, hopefully this time, we will run ... read more

Having arrived at our bnb with the help of six bus drivers and one Nonna ensured that we knew the little Italian coastal town of Pescara was a magestic land. Little English was spoken in the town, ensuring that we polished our Italian to perfecto and also contributing to us being known as the two foreign girls to all the locals. Every corner we turned there was a more wonderous building, street or stylish person greeting us. We spent our days traversing the town by bike (as a true Italian would do), eating ridiculous volumes of gelati, ensuring that our tastebuds experienced the most wonderous pizza they have ever tasted and swimming in untouched Italian waters. With our three days in Pescara having ended, we knew as we left the town by train that we had ... read more

So today was our second day in Rome and I can say without a doubt that we are freaking out about having a real summer!!!! Just over 30 degrees both days, clear blue skies and sweat... oh so much sweat! We had a slight issue with our accommodation, them moving us without telling us and as we flew in separately we spent a good portion of the night wondering the city searching for each other. But somehow, miraculously, we found each other at midnight and wondered to out new hostel before passing out. Our first day was very touristy, we visited the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, Colossuem, Vatican and the Piazza Venezia. We took our photos, made our romantic wishes at the fountain, checked out Pope Giovanni Paolos life story and had a rocky moment at ... read more

It seems that I have become accustomed to quickly to the idea of a luxurious holiday that begins and ends in Seoul. Having had a fantastic flight (largely due to a wonderfully lovely guy sitting next to me, also a first time overseas fligher) from Melbourne, I arrived alone and eager to prove to myself that I could navigate the mayhem that is Seoul airport. Despite my lacklustre geography skills, I successfully arrived to my hotel transfer point in tremendous time. Once upon the bus, I could not help but think of how amazing and different the ambience and feel of Korea was. Driving down the freeway to my hotel, appropriately listening to Trentemoller, I sensed a futuristic feel to this foreign land. The advertising was cheesy, yet straight to the point, the landscape was millions ... read more
