The house we had paid for happened to be moved in by a bunch of other people while I was in Ecuador and my friend was in Mexico. The landlord seemed to think he could get away with the two set http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica/Puntarenas/Mal-Pais/blog-113835.html Back Home Ive made it back home to Costa Rica and will update you even if you dont want it since I have free internet in San Jose. Well what a mission It started yesterday in Ecuador when I picked up my new passport after the other one was stolen. My credit card hadnt arrived yet but they can send that to me in Costa Rica. Anyway they were all doom and gloom at the South African consulate tellin http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica/San-Jose/blog-105874.html Otavalo and Baos Ecuador I feel like such a loser keeping on updating you guys with no photos but Im bored so like to write and dont worry those pics are being developed right nowThe last few days Ive been travelling Ecuador seeing the most popular parts of the central Andes bit.Otavalo north of Quito was a fantastic couple of days in which I splashed out at a truly beautiful hostel Cabaas el Rocio. For those o http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Ecuador/Centre/Banos/blog-104974.html Now in the middle of a volcanic crater... How did I come to be staying inside a volcanic craterWell I walked a few kms up the side of a mountain close to Mitad del Mundo came to a ridge looked down into a pit of cloud then descended 300m along an extremely steep rocky path into the crater and discovered it housed a bunch of farms and a lovely hostal. This crater is called Puluahua and is one of only two craters in the world t http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Ecuador/North/Quito/blog-104234.html In the Middle of the World La Mitad del Mundo city and monument are not as exciting as youd think really. Most interesting was tagging along on a tour at the ethnographic museum and learning about the diversity of Ecuadors indigenous cultures. From hispanic fishermen to afroecuatorians to amazonians to chino highlanders. Its amazing the differences and the histories. So after spending a pretty boring time at Cuidad De http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Ecuador/North/Quito/blog-104232.html Sucked in... 2 days ago the day after I arrived in Ecuador I was walking down a popular tourist street in Quito city with my backpack complete with all my belongings expect my clothes. I felt something drip onto my shorts as I walked but ignored it until a man came up and said excuse me you have something on your shorts can I help you remove it I was surprised he would bother but was like um... ok http://www.travelblog.org/South-America/Ecuador/North/Quito/blog-102449.html Im on a plane to ECUADOR Qu qu quWow so much to tell. We arrived there two weeks ago after leaving Tamarindo and met up with our friend Jo who had been working there two months. Well the people were lovely and we did have some great animal experiences. Spending time with Jaguars and Pumas was unforgettable it http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica/Guanacaste/blog-93815.html More on Santa Teresa It was independance day in Costa Rica today. And a very peaceful independance it was too. Flag displays and school children marching down the street at night with lanterns and playing drums. Independance was peacefully declared for Central America by Guatemala i think it was and Costa Rica has not had an army for the last 50 years so the country has an incredibly peaceful feeling There is http://www.travelblog.org/Central-America-Caribbean/Costa-Rica/Puntarenas/Mal-Pais/blog-91086.html Almost ashamed to say it... Yes I'm almost ashamed to say we're in Tamarindo without a doubt the most american like touristy big real estate business town in Costa Rica.
