I am a sophomore at Villanova University. I have an older brother and a younger brother. I am from central New Jersey where I live with my brothers, parents, and a golden retriever. I am on the Cross Country and Track team at Villanova, so I enjoy running. I also enjoy playing and watching other sports. I love hanging out with my friends and being around them because they always know how to make me laugh!

Yesterday I had to go visit a hospital in Philadelphia for one of my classes. They had a special unit just for eating disorders in teenagers and when one of the workers was talking to us and giving us a tour she was saying how they were going to open an eating disorder unit just for children. She was saying that problems with eating are now occuring in young children more and more frequently. It is so sad that this happens and I attribute it mainly to the advertisements and images portrayed by models and actors. Everyone strives to be just as thin as famous people because they relate that to having a better life. It is really unfortunate that this occurs because obviously these people are not healthy themselves and just because they are famous ... read more

This past Friday I flew to North Carolina for a track meet. On our way there the airport lost or "misplaced" our luggage. It is beyond me how 20 bags that say Villanova Track & Field could all have been lost. It was really important that we got our bags that night because our uniforms and spikes were in them, which we needed for the next morning. We attempted to call the airport for over 2 hours after leaving (keep in mind we were at the airport for about 2 hours trying to find them) to try and locate where the bags could have been. Everyone that we would talk to would try and connect us to a different person or different phone number. You would think with the technology that we have today the bags ... read more

Fire alarms allow us to know when there is a fire which helps save lives...automatically making it a good thing. However, when someone decides to pull the fire alarm when there is not a fire it is very annoying and frustrating. Last night around 11 o'clock this happened in my dorm. Someone pulled the alarm and everyone had to go outside and stand in the 30 degree weather that felt like 20 because of the wind for over 20 minutes. When Public Safety came they could not figure out how to turn the alarm off which is why we had to wait so long. Finally everyone started asking them when we would be allowed back in the building and they didn't have an answer for us. After about 25 minutes they let us back in, but ... read more

Being that its midterms week I am very stressed out! I had three tests and a paper due along with other homework. It is soooo nice to be able to take a break from all of it though and watch a good movie. This got me thinking about how amazing it is that they can put so much information on one little CD. You don't have to worry about it being fuzzy, like with a video, and it is definately less bulky which makes it easier to store. With DVD's you have so many options. You can pick certain scenes you want to see as well as out-takes and other commentary from the director or the actors. It makes it easy to learn more about the movie and the thought process that goes into movie making, ... read more

Whoever invented the refridgerator was very intelligent. It keeps all of our food fresh and edible and keeps our drinks cool and refreshing. It allows for food to last a lot longer than it would without having them. Although this is the case and there are so many positives, the refridgerator in my dorm room is quite possibly the loudest thing ever! I would like to think that if someone could have created such an awesome appliance they would have figured out how to make it not sound like some kind of wild animal. It is non-stop with the noises and that gets very annoying. Half the time I am afraid it may blow up and the other half of the time I spend kicking or hitting it to try and make it stop. I know ... read more

Despite not having a boyfriend I still love Valentines Day. There are many reasons including being thankful for my family and friends. But the greatest thing about this holiday would have to be the CHOCOLATE!!! The chocolate industry just may be the greatest creation in the world. I could eat chocoalte on any day and at any given time. Being that Valentines Day is known for chocolate and flowers, life couldn't get much better for me on February 14th. It is awesome because chocolate is everywhere and it is amazing to have, in my opinion, a holiday where it is expected that you eat chocolate (not that i need an excuse to eat it everyother day!). Even though you can have it at all times during the year, the best and newest types of chocolates seem ... read more

Ok...so I am probably the ONLY person at Villanova that doesn't own an I-Pod...and I don't see anything wrong with it! Personally I would rather have an actual conversation with someone than listen to music, even just while walking to class. I think it is amazing to see all the people who have head phones on just walking around campus. The thing that I find really funny is how two people could be walking with each other but instead of talking they will be listening to music. The highlight of my week was when I was leaving class and going outside the other day. There were two people in front of me who were walking together and talking. As soon as we left the building though, one of them put on their headphones and just tuned ... read more

I never would have thought that I would have a problem with an alarm clock! Granted that it does wake you up every morning, I normally do not have a problem with getting out of bed. It is sad when your alarm goes off and you are woken up from a very peaceful sleep to start, what in most cases is going to be, a hectic day. Despite this, I dislike hearing the alarm clock sound during the day even more than in the morning. I understand that people nap throughout the day, and that is fine. However, when you forget to turn off your alarm clock and it is beeping ALL DAY LONG that gets annoying! After being at college for a year and a half I have experienced this many times. Just the ... read more

I am a hugeeeeee fan of the internet. It is an awesome way to look up information quickly as well as being a great source of entertainment. Unfortunately there is a down side to this amazing resource. Just yesterday I was watching Oprah (what a great show!) and it was about a girl who commited suicide. She had been a member of a website that was "pro-choice" which in fact meant pro-suicide. The website gave the people ideas and tips on different ways to commit suicide and what the easiest and most painless ways of doing so are. As well as this there was a chat room type of thing where the members wrote their feelings and talked about how and when they were going to actually kill themselves. This girl was a perfect student and ... read more
