So as it turns out, I’ve completely overestimated my ability to commit to this blog. So to my loyal followers, as few of you as there may be, I apologize for being boring and taking forever to post anything. But since I’m finally getting around to it, I’m going to tell you about Florence. This past weekend I had a field trip to Florence on Saturday, so my roommates and I decided to go early and spend the entire weekend and it was so much fun! Definitely the best time I’ve had in Italy thus far. Florence is much bigger than Perugia and it was nice to get out and have more to explore there. This post won't be long since I'm getting ready for class, but I thought I'd update before my trip to Florence this weekend! Tuesday evening I was in class and looked outside and couldn't believe what I saw...little flurries of snow! My professor promised us that it never snows in Perugia. Hmm, guess he was sadly mistaken. Well flurries are harmless, when I woke up yesterday morning and looked outside, I didn't know if I was in Italy or back in Buffalo. Except it was clear that I was definitely not in Buffalo because they were enjoying 50 degree weather yesterday. Finally back to blogging! After another failed attempt to make a timely entry, here I am a week later writing about last week’s adventure. Last week, my roommates and I took a day trip to Pisa and learned that there really isn’t a whole lot to do there besides check out that leaning tower. In fact, Pisa smells pretty bad if I do say so myself. After wandering around probably the entire city we finally found the tower, and I had to laugh because the first thing I noticed was all the people scattered across the lawn doing the same pose. Ok starting now I'm trying to actually keep up to date with my posts. I've been here in Perugia from 2 weeks now and I'm pretty much all settled in. The city is so awesome; it's pretty small, but so beautiful. I have an amazing view from my window, which makes up for the less than breath-taking apartment I live in with my two roommates, Abby and Claire (both also from Bonas). The biggest change is that by law we're only allowed to have the heat on for 7 hours a day, so we've be learning to use it sparingly. These old stone buildings can get pretty cold.
