Hi guys, Hope you are all ready for christmas!. Since leaving Tirana we crossed into montenegro! WOW what a difference. firstly they have roads and people know how to use roundabouts and nearly park where they should. Montenegro is VERY up market, very affluent and very pretty. They have some how managed to adopt the Eruo even though they are not part of the EU yet!? It is expensive compared to Albania. We visited Stari Bar the first place on the coast. It is a 11th Century fortress with some churches and buildings still standing. From there we followed the coastal road to Budva - thank god the weather was nice as the views were lovely. We stopped at Budva for a hour (we paid for parking for the first time in ages and we were ... read more

Hi all, Finally have found a good internet place so it is time to update the blog. Although Scott tells me I am not funny enough in them :-(. So sorry if I bore you but here goes. We picked Vicky up and had a fun afternoon seeing the main sights while poor vicky dragged her luggage around with her! (dont worry we did help her........a bit!)(Well she did forget the VEGEMITE!!!). The Acropollis is the main focal point and although it is iconic and looks great from a distance it is a little bit of a let down close up - all covered in scaffolding. Had a lovelt meal and made our plan of attack for the week. We decided to hot foot it around Peloponnese. We crossed over the Cornith Canal. A massive 6 ... read more

Just a short one before we pick up Vic from the airport and see Greece!! So after Skopje we headed south to Stobi an ancient Roman city which is still being excavated unfortunately all the mosaics where covered with feet of sand to protect them from the winter weather, Caroline waited in the Duk and pissed and moaned about the rain. (Raining for about 4 days now without stopping). Had to pay extortainate toll road prices of a euro!! As we drove Through the Pelister nature park looking for more churches!! Lake Prespa was fantastic with almost coastal views and the snow capped mountains again showed through the low cloud cover, through the Livada Pass (1568M) a single lane track with no traffic and landslides covering most the road. Ohrid was a lovely stone cobbled town ... read more

Hi guys - me back. I had to let Scott send the last one as I was in bed poorly sick (Otherwise know as being pathetic). Not with a hangover but with flu...............not man flu but proper flu. I'm still not great,or anywhere near great but I got some tablets today and feel I am on the mend. I think what Scott put sums up the last few weeks. He did fail to mention the ice on the inside of the windows (prob where the flu came from!). Galipoli was amazing, interesting and very moving. I did enjoy Turkey but really did feel it was time to move on. We finally left the posh hotel - even tho our clothes were not quite dry (Where yoou can get roome by the Hr?!?!). We headed out of ... read more

Well umm dont know where Caroline left the last one!! Think we just left 2 days of glorious sunshine on the med and headed north (getting sick of Turkey) We first went to see the calcium pools at Pamukkale and so old ruined city the pools could have been fantastic but as water wasnt flowing over the edges it was quite dull. From there to Ephesus another ruined city from way back when Jesus played fullback for Jerusalem....way over priced being a tourist destination and alittle concrete than one would have like and coach parties coming out our ass. So a nice day in the sun then to Gallipoli for Aussie rememberance and to see the sites from world war one! (Had to educate caroline on what happened here) While free camping we meet a nice ... read more

G'day all, Well we left Lada heaven (Yeravan - every white lada in the world ends up in Yerevan!) we headed to a greek temple that had been restored but was very nice and a monestry complex carved into the mountain in very good condition. We then headed down Debed Gourge which is classed as little Switzerland - which I guess when it is not thick fog it may well ressemble it!. Also the driving in fog is not improved - a gravel road tunnel, thick fog, people still over taking on blind corners!! idiots. (Like being back at work for me!!) We stayed at a hotel which was lovely, actually had two floors and a balcony. We got some food delivered to the room as the restaurant was closed 1,000 (1 euro 80)service charge to ... read more

Hi guys, As you can see we got carried away heading East!......... I also have a correction to make - on the last blog I was spelling Bizaar wrong so I stand corrected - I realised as I looged out. Since my last update we carried on in Turkey. We did a section of the black sea coast and it was amazing (The western half, the eastern half was shit). Mountains, private bays, little villages and forests. The sea looked lovely (although we didnt swim). We stopped at a little town and stayed in a hotel as the campsites are few and far between. We went out for a lovely fish supper and tried the Raki (I love the stuff!). From there we headed along to a place called Boyabat and found a great castle with ... read more

Hello all. Before I forget again I have to tell you about an incident that happened in Romania - pouring rain and bad roads = big puddles. Scott was driving along having fun splashing water about (Washing dukky), splashing a line of parked cars. He didnt see the poor lady in white trouses stood between the cars until it was too late. I dont know whos face was funnier Scotts, mine or the ladies. We did feel bad!(Once we stopped laughing) Well back to where we left you. After the last update we spent two days up a mountian looking for a monument (Actually we drove pass it the first time because we where not bothered), its the Shipka pass. Only when we did find it, it was under thick low fog ( Thats understatement of ... read more

Sorry it is been a while since the last update and we have had a few adventures. Firstly we went to Bucharest which is really dull. The second largest building in the world is there and worth missing. Also we had a typical travel inccident! I will let Scott tell you the story (please dont laugh at him too much!)... .......Scott is to embarrased. Some guy, an egyptian asked if they use euros here. Scott explained about the Leve and gets his wallet out to show a few notes. At that the guy grabs hold of the money "to look at it"- I step in a take it off him. Then a random guy comes up and starts distracting us. Later we looked in the wallet and are missing 6 x 50 lev notes (about £70). ... read more
