very close - From: Rice-a-Roni
You recognized the next door house - my house was 1813, yup, the bus would drive right by! A few years back you could still buy live chickens in SF Chinatown, but there was a big uproar over it, so that was halted. Welcome back to the north. We're finally getting some good snow! - Diane

North Face - From: Disney Land Singapore Style
I personally am LOVING my $30 North Face outlet down jacket. It's a boy's extra large, with a fake fur ruff, and for our subzero (F) days that we've been having in Anchorage, it's been perfect. Sigh, wish I could join you there... I've read all the journals, have enjoyed the virtual vacation, as I've not had a day off in a month (grouse grouse). Give my love to Berkeley. - Diane H

Journey's end - From: Disney Land Singapore Style
Well, it sounds like it's been a great trip. Very much an eye-opener. Glad the dress looks beautiful - I can't wait to see it. It will be great to see some of the photos. Send the best ones online when you get back, as I'm sure you'll be too busy to show me photos in June! (maybe in July when I come back, but then I'll hopefully be seeing the wedding photos) Have fun in San Fran - I love that city! - Tattyhead

Sentosa Island - Singapore - From: Thai Massage and Snake Farm
Hey guys, hope you like sentosa island. I loved the cable car ride over to the island over the "world trade center". Hope you get a chance to check out the butterfly garden (if its still there) and do some of the hikes. Its probably a little tame compared to what you've seen so far, but its a good way to wind down for your trip back to Canada! Give us a call when you get home and sorted out again. Best wishes for a safe trip back. - Doug and Vita. - Doug and Vita

down jacket - From: Thai Massage and Snake Farm
hey check what they have for down vests...check out how they fit...most likely a large...but maybe even check out a men's medium to make sure it's long inthe body, but if they fit small then go bigger! black is the prefered choice obviously, as i'm black inside...but if you can find one that's cheap...you're a bargain shopper, than totally hook me up...i would totally appreciate it for the trip to nepal! thanks buddy, c u soon, xoxo nickers - nickers

Cubans are back! - From: Last night in Saigon
Hey.. we're back from cuba and reported directly to mom's place for some grub! (well not exactly.. but just wanted to bug you). We've managed to catch up on all the reading... sounds amazing there! We're very interested as well in the cat noise for haggling.. I could have used that one in Singapore. Actually, if you have time in singapore on the way back through try that at "sim lim square" electronics baazar. So sad to hear about bob being served up, but maybe he got into some trouble with moray eels or something or drank some snake juice. Hope you got some good pictures in the mekong delta... did you see any machinegun nests or pt boats or anything? I ditched the other night there in a Mig (in a video game) and had to fight through the american lines to get back home. We love the travel updates! stay safe.. hope your dress works out and perhaps you should buy more and larger travel chests? (ken can carry them), just sign him up for some massages.. Good to see that Caroline hasn't lost those bartering skills! It sounds like they have even become more advanced. A useful skill to have, especially when you are making so many purchases. Glad you are getting a chance to relax. I can only dream of mountain biking in this -20 C deep freeze we are experiencing! - Tattyhead

Last Comment for a week - From: Khao Yai National Park - Pak Chong
Hey guys! great writeup! I'm glad it was long.. I had some time here to do some reading and Vita and I really liked it! Pretty funny stuff, especially caroline with the pineapple and the stick waving it at the bats! Ken.. you cant beat Thai red and green curry! Eat some for me eh? Vita and I are leaving for Cuba in a couple hours (4am) its 8pm here now, I've got my beret with the star on it ready. Apparently there's some small islands out there that need liberation from evil dictators.. I'm all over it (with a rum punch). Enough bs, we're off island hopping. You guys take care and have a great time! I'm sure you will! PS: When you swing through singapore make sure you check out Sentosa island .. I liked it there, might be a bit commercial for you after you're done though.. but I think you'll like the butterfly garden they have there.. its awesome! Doug - Che Roberge's

It's sounds like you're off to a great start! It must be odd to be in one of the countries struck by the tsunami, although you are far away. I can't wait to see your wedding dress in June! I didn't like LAX either - we flew through enroute to Hawaii. The main store had coolers for water and juice that weren't turned on, so you had to buy warm drinks! They said only the restaurants sell cold drinks... Look forward to hearing about Vietnam. - Ashley

Ken's good with leeches just not too many of them.. tell him to try some waterskiing in the rice paddies, and keep his trunks tied tight. Definitely cool to have a vietnam stamp in your passports... how has the food been so far? find any good eats? Spicey and ricey? - Doug & Vita

know it well... - From: LAX sucks
Yeah, I flew into LAX from Alaska, and because we were early (a very unusual thing for United) we waited over half an hour for luggage. They had no one to unload the plane... Yes, it rained all but 2 days I was in L.A. Glad to be back in sunny Alaska, even though there is so little snow I cannot ski or snow shoe - it's all ice, and hazardous. But lovely, nonetheless. Enjoy - this is great, I look forward to more about the trip! - Diane
