Volunteer with the International Humanity Foundation!
The International Humanity Foundation is looking for volunteers to volunteer from their own homes or at our IHF childrens homes and educational centers in Kenya, Thailand, and Indonesia and to be friends and teachers to our children. By bringing together the disadvantaged children of these countries and volunteers from across the world, we believe there is a learning opportunity for both. As both sides discover more about each other, their lives and their cultures and teach others what they have learned in this exchange, we hope to create a world of greater understanding and compassion. I have had the privilege of being at the IHF centre in Thailand for just over two weeks now. It has been quite the adventure but as life is an adventure I have loved every minute of it (well most of the minutes). I arrived on the night of the 15th of September. It was a long flight and I was glad to finally have arrived. Jirasak (the director of the centre) met me at the airport and we travelled by tuk-tuk to the orphanage stopping for some food along the way. I have met many foreigner volunteers coming to my center so I wanted to know English to communicate with them. I have tried to study hard, memorize vocabulary. I hoped I will communicate with the volunteer one day. As I am a Lahu hill tribe boy, I want to practice Thai language too. It is a good occasion to study both Thai and English at the center now. I sometimes was bored as I had nothing to do. I like to listen to music, sing a song and listen to radio. I like to research about something about science. I will isolate that time. I am happy to stay here at this center.

I was a bit anxious on the plane from Bangkok to ChiangRai, I didn't know what to expect really. But as soon as I arrived at the airport I saw the smiley face of the co-director Jirasak, holding a sign with my name on it. And then I met lovely Sana, the current director. A tuk tuk was waiting for us outside and the 20 minute journey to the center gave me the first picture of the outskirt of Chiang Rai, my mind was still foggy and jet lagged. I couldn't believe I had finally arrived after 3 days of travel and I was already amazed of what was around me.
