OK so we are nearly heading home. I am looking forwrad to my own bed I must say but we have had an intersting past week. We came back from seeing the sights in San Fran one afternoon to find the car park area including our car taped off and about 5 cops around. There was blood on the gground and I asked what had happened. They wouldn't explain but said it wasn't a safety issue! Frankly anything that takes 5 cops and police tape seems like a safety issue. It appears someone decided to go to the 4th floor balcony of our motel and jump off. Terrible thought. Kerry was mostly pleased to see they missed our rental car by about a metre. I had to finish quickly last time I wrote so want to add a bit more about Napa. We stayed in a great Inn/pub with micro brewery and great restaurant attached. We had been reccommended it by a kiwi friend and loved so stayed a second night. We walked town (am easy stroll of a small place) one night and ended up in a wine bar for happy hour. There at tha bat we met Robert (French pronunciation) though an American. He was in his sixties, tanned and a bit pissed. The artist type from what we could gather. As I write I am in the town of Calistoga. It is at the very end of the Napa Valley. But before I tell you about it let me back track. Thanks for the well wishes after being sick and paying a fortune to get better! I am now several days later starting to feel normal again but am still taking antibiotics to kill off nay remaining bug that could possibly spoil the rest of my holiday be assured! We had 2 huge driving days. So from Williams we drove up past Las Vegas and right up to the side of Death Valley and stayed in the smallest town called Beatty. It is about 10 miles from Death Valley.
