So today was the 2nd day of classes. The 1st day the 2 classes I had seemed fairly easy ish. All my classes are in spanish. yesterday i had Latin American Cultures and Latin American Cinema. Both with the same teacher who is super nice and funny. slightly boring but not bad at all. Today I had Latin American History, a spanish language course, and argentine cultures. The history may have been the hardest class i have ever attended. On Monday we had the university orientation that was in full spanish so I'm pretty sure no one understood a word of it, but thankfully most of the information wasn't too important. After orientation we took a tour of the city on a bus. We got to see a small glimpse of BA. when we got to La Boca, a neighborhood area in BA, we were able to stop and get out for 20 mins. There were alot of little shops that lined the streets. It reminded me alot of Mexico. whoever said that winters in south america aren't cold lied. when we left the airport in BA yesterday it was 30 degrees out but it was sunny. today its in the 40s but theres wind gusts from 40-50mph so it feels even colder. plus on top of that, it is pouring rain. really to sum it up, it feels just like bellingham. talking to people who live down here this is the coldest that it has been in years. all the Argentinians are wearing massive winter snow jackets and snow boots. we are all hoping the weather gets better soon. until it gets nicer, i wish i had brought more jackets and wintery clothes.
